Four lashers charged.
Part of me thinks that it is a bit harsh, but then again if someone in the Blackpool end had been burnt, they would have been criticising the Police big style for not doing anything about it !!
Health & Safety and all that...........
Health & Safety and all that...........
"Three have are accused of taking flares into the grounds and a fourth man with being drunk inside the stadium"
Accused? 19,000 could see that they blatantly did bring flares into the stadium.

Yeah, but its proving that those particular individuals brought them in......
It could be one for the forensics team to investigate.. 😉

Who cares. You've got to remember this is their cup final. It's about as excited they get all season. Not Christmas Day or New Years Eve.... a few extra fans in a decent stadium at an away game! Poor sods.
If they get burnt they will learn from it!

There's no smoke without fire. 😀

Heaven forbid someone should be drunk at a place where they serve alcohol.
It's pretty obvious to me who was holding the flare:

No, that would make sense at a place ran by Derek Shaw.

It was Stewart bastard Downing! No wonder it's being kept hush-hush.

It must be tough being a Preston fan seeing 5,500 Lashers singing and generally being awesome fans. You have the infrastructure in place but you just can't get to Blackpool's level in terms of atmosphere can you.
I say well done to the flares and a big well done to the tangerine army. Only criticism in that they didn't stand all game but it is a bit unfair on kids and the elderly doing that.
Just finished watching the sun go down in Malaysia so thought it was about time to check out the reports on the game. Sounds like we were by far the better team even with key players missing. My Dad said it was 2 points dropped rather than a decent point.
3 games at Deepdale and not scored once past us.. that is somewhat shambolic 😎

Unbeaten @ Gloomfield since 1997. Shambolic home form.
13 years and counting....

You wouldn't be saying that if your kid got burnt by a 16 year old chav with a flair. Idiot.

In the likes of greece, italy and turkey its almost an offence NOT to bring a flare into the stadium with you judging by how common they are during games http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSgtlKZcAgE
In greece its also fairly common to set the seating on fire to show your displeasure at your teams bad performance

Why is it only in England why these types of things are frowned upon. Why do Germany allow standing and flares without any fuss.
Not saying it's big or clever and wouldn't warn it to be the norm but if I'm being honest, anything that breaks the prawn sandwich all seater type of football these days, is good for me.

Amazing what a nice football stadia stand with a roof can do eh?
Even when your grounds complete, you couldn't offer an away allocation of 5,500, sad that really isn't it.

The cheer that went up at the final whistle from the away support, albeit a high pitched one, would suggest otherwise.
