In pre season we should start from scratch with our defence,sell SSL for 4 million and Lonners for 2 million,release Davidson and sell Chilves and Trotman,kepping Jones and Hart.With the money we get from them two we should buy a new keeper and 2 new centre backs and if Williams impresess sign him on a free at the end of the season.Oh yeah and try and sell Collins,if anyone would have him.

Lonners would make a million. SSL is far too lightweight and too much of a mardy arse to make 4 million.
3 Million for both, and that would be a good deal.
For SSL im only going off the price that DS and DF stated was the asking price,theres no way i think he is a 4 million pound player and Lonners anywhere between 1-2 million would be good.
There's a lot of good teams in this league, only boro were foolish enough to pay that sort of money for SSL. After the entire 'coming home' episode, 3 million will be tops for SSL.
Same goes with lonners, no team in this league wants our prospective English international. He has too many faults that show up each game. Not many teams will risk a million on a goalie who can't catch.
I know what your saying but during January DF was adamant that the price was 4 million when Celtic were sniffing around.Your right about Lonners not be able to catch tho.

As for your main point, I agree. We need sweeping changes. Ferguson, in my eyes anyway, has made some decent signings in Coutts and Treacey. While we've not seen the later really, he has certainly played a lot of games for Shef Utd during his spell there.
With the signings and loanees from pop, I have 100% faith in Ferguson in the transfer Market.
hopefully we'll build a new team, with a lot of youth, skill but experience. I'd keep Nolan, Trotters, Jones and Chilvers.

I think DF didn't want to lose St. Ledger at the moment, as he saw much more problematic areas which needed dealing with first. In the summer I think then all bets will be off and only those who have impressed DF will be sure of being retained, everyone else will be available for a move. Obviously it will depend on how much cash he has to spend on replacements and the old problem of finding clubs interested (foolish) enough to want to sign the ones we want rid of. 🙂
I think Nolan will of played his last game for the clun...hes playing for his mate again and will be playing regular football so i can see that becoming permanant,Totman keeps getting loaned out and ive been listening to a few Huddersfield games and they dont really rate him and i dont think DF rates Chilvers if he playes Collins ahead of him.
Agree on all those points, jut my wish list. I'd like to see if Trotman can improve, Nolan is a good player (regardless of the pantomime that is currently going on with him) and Chilvers has been solid since about a month after arriving. To play that donkey Collins ahead of him, must be a massive insult.

As long as we don't go down, and I don't think we will, I actually think we'll be brilliant next season. Hemmings will back his golden boy in the transfer market (to what degree I don't know but it could be a sizable amount) and I'd expect to see 3 quality season long loans in from Man United.
I think his transfer activity already has shown he is deeply unhappy about elements of the squad he's inherited. So I think the idea of "Starting from Scratch" next season is a given.
