OFFICIAL PRESTON NORTH END PRESS RELEASE

RELEASE:*Immediate

DATE*:*Wednesday*24th*March*2010*

SUBJECT:*Football Club Offers Pitch And Stadium Facilities For Hire

Preston North End Football Club have taken the unusual step of offering their pitch and stadium facilities for hire to anyone who might fancy living the life of a footballer for a day.
*
The Club have a longer than normal period between their last game of the season and the pitch being reseeded and have taken steps to ensure that they get the most from what will be a quiet time for the stadium.
*
Fans, businesses and even wealthy individuals are expected to take the chance to play on the turf of what is the oldest professional football stadium still in use.
*
Speaking about the venture Preston North End's General Manager said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who might fancy strutting their stuff on the hallowed Deepdale turf.
*
"£1000 is great value when you break it down into 22 players, maybe even 44 players if you can squeeze two matches in! Anyone who books the pitch will get full use of the two changing rooms, they'll walk out of the tunnel and play a game on the pitch. We're even giving them the full VIP treatment after the match when they will be fed and watered in the Players' Lounge."
*
The Deepdale surface is available to hire for a limited time from Monday 26th April until Friday 21st May.
*
It is available between 10am and 2pm in four hour sessions on every week day, so individuals, companies, teams, schools are all able to hire it for their footballing use, should they wish.
*
The cost for each four hour slot is £1,000 (including VAT) and included in the price is the full use of the pitch and changing facilities for the four hours, a buffet for the players served in the Players’ Lounge after the game, an official team sheet produced for each of your players; the big screen for messages during the game; use of the press boards for a man of the match presentation after the game.
*
The slots are available on a strict first come first served basis and are available on the Club's online store MyPNE.Com (http://mypne.com/retailprods.aspx?cat=306&h=71). For more information call the Club's general manager Ben Rhodes on 0844 856 1964 or email enquiries@pne.com
*
All players and teams must sign a disclaimer before playing on the Deepdale pitch. Teams will be expected to supply their own match officials and medical cover.
*
All games are booked subject to any additional fixtures the first team, reserves and youth team may need to play at the end of the regular season.
Ends.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this. Either a canny idea, or desperation, depending on ur personal bent. I think it's quite good, could pay for the relaying of the pitch over summer.

Bournemouth have done thsi last couple of seasons as well to help them pay their player wages over summer. We've organised games a couple of times, is expensive admittedly but it's a good laugh

I'd be up for it as long as i'm in goals due to 2 shot at knees.

£45 is nowt, its a night out on't lash.

I've already played on the pitch/used the changing rooms but that was when it was the old Pavillion and the old changing rooms so wouldn't mind doing it again to see what the new dressing rooms are like.

Thanks for posting this; we the fans team will gladly take up the offer but we might not have 22 availible on the day so if anybody wants to join in with us feel free to get in touch.

Many Thanks
Steve

I could bring my team from Notts to play you in a game and share the cost?

We used to play on Deepdale every Wednesday teatime when we had the plastic pitch.

I've scored numerous goals on Deepdale, so I don't need to prove myself anymore!

Besides that my hip is knacked and I'm slightly too old.

If we were a bit younger it might well appeal.

Good idea PNE. Worth a punt.
