the argument conclusively and comprehensively. You numpites on here who can see no further than the end of your noses have just witnessed your lame argument for "experience" annihilated.

Germany's average age was 24 with 5 of those players coming from their u21 team that won the Euro championship. Under Capello England, in line with your experience before youth beliefs, had the oldest team in the WC. We were systemaically destroyed with consummate ease as was your argument. England were dull, boring, slow, unable to make telling passes, totally incapable of actually dribbling past players and lacking creativity. That wasn't a team it was a great void.

For several tournaments we've persevered with the likes of Cole A, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard,Barry, Rooney, Defoe, Heskey et al and we haven't won a damned thing!

No more debate about "experience" just accept that you haven't a clue what you're on about and in relation to PNE it's time for McLaughlin, Miller, Barton, Mayor and Proctor to be given their opportunity. They are the club's future and Fergy must show he's going for revolutiion and not evolution.

It's not their age it's their talent.

Stop getting confused into believeing that they're all good enough. They aren't. Just like Parillon and Stott weren't.

give it up Voldemort please! there is a whole wide world outside your own arse you know. yes england were shit, yes we all fucking knew we would get spanked, so in conclusion we all told us so, and we were all right. instead of boring the shit out of us all, why dont you do your coaching badges and prove us all wrong?

Brazil have the oldest team in the tournament, so let's just see how well experience do.

The point is "experience" at England level has been given it's chance and has repeatedly failed.

It's been the same old story ever since 1966 where England have produced the type of gifted players whose stage would have been the World Cup yet the likes of Bowles, Marsh,Worthington, Hudson, Osgood, Thomas, Kendall, Currie and our very own Peter Thompson and Tony Morley were never given a chance.

Perhaps now, at long last, the penny may just have finally dropped with calls from the national media to ditch the so called "golden generation" and just go for it by introducing the youngsters. To hell with winning the Euro tournament we should now be planning strategically to win the next World Cup.

Again there are lesson here for Fergy to learn.

The difference is JTPNE those Brazillians can actually play the beautiful game or did that escape your attention.

My team for 2014 would be as follows.

Hart

Naughton Mancienne Cahill Gibbs

Wilshere Rodwell Milner Johnson

Rooney Wickham

I'd play these as early as possible even if it meant not qualifying for Euro 12. The experience they would gain is far more important for the longer term future.

The way you say it though, you would have a team full of under 21s. Whilst I agree that you need some youngsters in the side, it has to be a blend of youth and experience at any level. Look at Arsenal, they have some of the best youngsters around, but they haven't won anything. That is because there is very little experience in the team.

Ok, if the Germans win the World Cup i'll take this on board, but untill then i'll stand by my belief that at least some experienced players are necessary.

bowles walked out on england in the home internaionals in 1974.even so don revie played him a few times-in 1976 he was a regular. worthington was given a chance by joe mercer and did not take it. hudson was perhaps unlucky with selection and injury. osgood got a bad injury in 1966 which let geoff hurst into the world cup squad after the injury although a good player osgood was never the great player he may have become. dave thomas given chances by don revie. kendall was unlucky. tony currie was an england regular. thompson was unlucky. tony morley did not take his chance.

+1. Couldn't agree more.

"Young English players have seen their path to their respective first teams blocked by imported ones. The home-grown youngsters, the odd notable exception aside, either languish in the reserves or move down the leagues just to garner some playing time. They cannot develop the tools to take on the world on loan at Brentford.

Meanwhile, Thomas Mueller and Mesut Oezil acquire their first-team experience at the sharp end of the Budesliga and European competition. They are trusted in key matches; nurtured and encouraged. This German team, with Philipp Lahm, 26, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski, both 25, as the veterans, will be around for at least two more World Cups and have already been to a semi-final and European Championship final.

And it is the suitability of the Bundesliga for their development that has made it so. German clubs are still happy to 'risk' younger players in the first team while English teams limit their graduates to the odd end of season run out or League Cup appearance. Almost all of the victorious under-21 European championship
squad are playing regularly in the German top-flight.

Of the 23-man England squad that featured in final of the under-21 tournament last summer only Milner and untried goalkeeper, Joe Hart, graduated to the World Cup panel. The Germans promoted six, including four starters in the win over England, due to their performances for their clubs."

Here endeth the lesson. You lost the argument matey.

To try and compare England's carthorses against Brazil's thoroughbeds is laughable. The South Americans still have the capacity to retain pace and superior technique at older ages while England's "golden generation" had lost it several years ago. Exactly the same principle applies to PNE. We have persevered, nay endured "experience" for almsot half a century and still haven't returned to the Promised Land. We'd better do it darned quick because I suspect Sky may waken up to the fact that the English Premier is vastly overrated and start shipping their money elsewhere.

come on JD, you are better then this.

was the experience at fault when the 2 oldest squads in the tournament were in the 2006 world cup final.

England and english players arent good enough. Age means nothing (obviously to an extent), its about whether you are good enough. Blaming the exit on "experience" is as ludicrous as suggesting the lino lost it for us.

Sir Tom retired at what age, 40? {This isn't aimed @ Jaymo).

In your world, we'd have lost 15 years service from the great great man.

An extreme example maybe but valid all the same.

Jay, i just think that its time for a new team with some new ideas and input. I'd select 4 or 5 for the Hungary game without a doubt starting with Hart and A Johnson as certainties.

4 years down the line, that team i picked will have 4 years of experience whilst retaining an element of youth about it.

I could be wrong though. Only one way to find out.
