For 24 hours I've never heard so many stupid reasons for defeat and madcap ideas to solve the fact we have average players. Its like the asylum nurses forgot to lock the cells during the game and all the loonies escaped and have infected every media organ going. Mr Motivator Shearer for manager, the Germans should have forfeited a goal at half time, we need a manager who isnt a disciplinarian but one that panders to the spoilt child egos. A total free for all. I quite like the idea of an age limit for the team - except when they reach 25 they get sent to Sanctuary a la Logans Run and we get to watch their extinction - just to make sure they cant make comebacks like Beckham. We really do need to make sure that Terry never does play for England again - his off field antics scuppered the team spirit, but this is being conveniently overlooked in the clamour to heap maximum blame on a foreigner. Oh, and he played shite as well.

I was mocking the so called "golden generation" because I knew the likes of Terry, Lampard, Gerrard and Cole A just weren't up to it. They were over hyped.

The more observant of you will have observed that a strange phenomenon occurs to England players once they turn 26. They develop an exagerated swagger and arrogance that is not warranted. They stroll onto the pitch and they parade around at a detached pace while the game passes them by. As they do this a rather odd smirk is manifest in their facial expressions. In other words they have become multi £millionaires and have lost the edge several years before.

Brazil have an ageing team BUT they remain grand masters and their players as you've just witnessed defy their age. This does not apply to England players and most certainly doesn't apply to ageing PNE players over the years. In both instances we have been forced to endure dimwits.

The above situation in England's instance, and PNE have mirrrored this, is that the wrong players have normally been selected with young talent ignored. Why ? Because clowns like you lot continue to regurgitate the line you've been programmed to repeat "We can't play him he's too young and has no experience" indeed we've already heard this one in relation to McLaughlin, Miller and Proctor. Consequently we have several talented youngsters approaching 20 who have't made a 1st team appearance. The reason they have no "experience" is they weren't given the chance in the first place because of blinkered clowns like you lot.

Just to clarify, no one over the age of 21 at this moment is allowed in the squad for the qualifying campaign for the next world cup, as they will be over 25 bythe time the tournament comes around, or do they play in all the qualifying campaign and then automatically get axed.

Pointless therefore playing Hart, Milner etc in qualifying.

Please could you name your side for the next world cup finals now.

If Gerrard, Ferdinand, Cole, Lampard Terry etc were the golden generation 10 years ago, are you saying you would never have played them when they were 21/22 and all in the England team because you knew then they were not good enough.

Who are the 20 year olds who are better now than the above named were then.
 
I for one rate Tom Huddlestone 😎 as one of the most technically gifted English players. Often seen a fat lump, or lazy, he's a class act and was on the fringes of recent England squads. I see he's now 23, so falls into the age bracket of someone young but with a fair bit of experience having started very young at Derby straight in 16, even sub at age 15 I seem to recall.

Playing in Europe next season will surely further enhance his experience and make him a certain pick for future squads whoever is England manager for the next qualifying campaign.

Namedropping untried youngsters is easy as many promising players fade away and play in the lower leagues, but many mentioned by JD earlier on this thread are about to, or already, play regularly in the Premier League; so have hopefully cleared the stage of potentially fading away.

IMO Joe Hart should've been England's number 1 for the World Cup, but I thought James actually played quite well. Green doesn't fill me with confidence in a West Ham shirt, so when he was starting against USA I hoped he wouldn't be a weakness, but no one could predict the shocker he came up with.

Obviously you're right wrt the continued failure of England's so called golden generation but the old argument of "If they're good enough they're old enough" isn't quite the same as your consistent "if they're young enough they're good enough".

Experienced skill will beat equivalently skilled inexperience any day of the week. England didn't lose because they were old - they lost because the Germans were far superior players technically and tactically and prepared for the tournument far far better physically and mentally.

Your 1 dimensional experience argument is only 1 part of the overall picture.

Brazil will also have cleared out most of the current team by the next World Cup. Why ? Because they know they will be past it.

As we all recognise, a blend of youth and experience usually works, however, just to blow your argument of youth, youth and more youth, please explain how the England u 21 team (full of youth you know) lost 4-0 to the German u 21 team last summer.

I await your words of wisdom.
