I'm going to argue this one again - I was right behind it about 15 rows back and it dropped quicker than John Terry's undergarments. One of those things. No-one, not even the notoriously critical Preston public, was blaming Lonergan at the time which is usually a pretty good indicator.

The rest of the time Lonergan's been crap though. I'd like to get better but since no-one's going to buy him (and pay him what he gets here) then we'll stuck him.

At least he's from Preston though 😉

I was going spare, as were many others, but not the hero worshipping Preston public, critical my arse.

So was Teffers right to assume that the ball was going over the bar, or should he have been prepared to collect it from underneath his bar in case the ball dipped?

The ball could equally have been played shorter in which case being on his line he would have been out of position.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a rational human with eyes and ears and the ability to analyse what I see dispassionately and come to my own decisions and, as such, I'm well aware of Lonergan's strengths and weaknesses. I do think people are generally wrong on this occasion though. I'd like a better keeper but, at the same time, he's not the biggest problem facing our team.

Jaymo - you seem in a bad mood today - I'll knock the light heartedness on the head for now.
 
God - I hope some team does buy Lonergan so that we don't have to endure these interminably boring and repetitive debates any more!

He had all the time in the world to take a step back and simply catch it under the bar, but as usual he went for a spectacular tip over the bar with triple salco, back somersault and five rolls, and missed the fucking ball, as we have sen on numerous occasions. 😡

I think he was not at fault but is generally crap and thats my final word on the matter.

Crap and nonsensical argument, you were probably pissed and had a worse view than I got on the TV. I saw it alright, and it was fucking abysmal, same old story, showboating instead of keeping it simple, repeated again a few days later. He could have simply stepped back and collected it under the bar, but he'll never miss an opportunity for a triple salco.

I managed to drive myself back to Bradford afterwards quite successfully quiestly seething at the woeful display I'd put up with.

I saw the TV too and it looked a far more benign shot on the box than it did in the flesh. Those are the facts as I see them and I trust my judgment above yours.
