Morgan and Brown Sign (Confirmed)

Morgan and Brown Sign (Confirmed)

You have to love how Ferguson bigs up his signing from Leicester as the mainstay of their defence as they reached the play-offs last season. If that's the case Ferguson, why don't you tell us about your Peterborough signings who, like you, have tried at this level and failed? 😱

As for our strongest back four, slot Nolan in there instead of Davison and we have a pretty good defence. Sadly, since Nolan is one of the many players to have had a run-in with our affable manager, a left back still remains very much a priority in our summer signing spree. No doubt another failed Championship "star" from London Road - i.e. the Peterborough left back - will be joining us next week 🙄

Are we talking about the same Nolan that Irvine has also apparently not come in for? Or has (to use your phrase) 'the affable' Nolan fallen out with him also?

We need players who actually want to be at Deepdale, not ones who throw a wobbler the minute they don't get their own way.

DF is actually bringing in players that can do a job for us and that won't put our financial future in jeopardy..................unlike your bum pal Irvine.

Lets go for a triple swoop of Messi, Torres & Ronaldo as they all have had a poor world cup. Maybe even Rooney too? That may help our midfield/striking options perhaps?

I'd also say Frank Ribery but i think he has enough stuff to worry about with the allegations he has to deal with.

Whilst i don't rate Brown based on his 6 games with us plus his political stance does not help his cause, he's here now so i suppose i'll have to back him on the pitch as i will do the other 10.

Yes, this is a concession from me. 😱

Interested to know why you didn't rate his performance for us when on loan.
He looked a good, solid, no nonsense centre half and a good organiser/communicator. OK so he's not blessed with pace but he has good positional sense and if he had pace as well then he wouldn't be coming to PNE.

I tend to agree with JD, although purely from a football point of view, the combined signings of Brown and Morgan do appear to make sense, and who knows, the underlying reason for these two signings could be at some time in the near future to allow PNE to listen to and possibly accept offers for SSL.

I guess everyone in life deserves a second chance, and at least Brown did apologise to his team mates at Leicester for his outburst........maybe a forced apology, obviously I don't know?

In the club's current financial situation, I guess beggars can't be choosers is the phrase to use. If we had a strong experienced team I guess Brown would not have been signed................but we don't have that luxury just at the moment.

I just have a hatred for CBs who get turned too easily.

I should be used to it given the recent likes of Murdock, Lucketti (at the tail end of his PNE career), Collins, Chilvers and now Brown.

Ahh well.

Can't comment on Morgan as I can;t remember ever seeing him play (or taking note of him at least) so will reserve judgement on him. To have 20 international caps for Wales though shows he is no mug.

As for Brown, very pleased with this signing. I don't know what exactly happened at Leicester, nor do I want to know. Couldn't care less about his political views. I thought he was superb when we had him on loan and was very disappointed when we were unable to keep him here longer. He was exactly what we were lacking at the time and he is exactly what we are still currently missing so fair play to DF on that one.

A few more players in, a few more out and I will be happy as that Larry bloke.

Do you mean like John Terry and Mathew Upson JD...😛.

Most central defenders by the nature of their build are susceptible to real pace coming at them. The way to resolve this issue is to ensure that we have at least one solid responsible defensive minded central midfielder.

I could be wrong, BUTT I think that is what this team may need.

Or, we could always play SSL in that position in front of Brown and Morgan..............now there's an idea.🙂

Don't remember him getting turned easily in any games for us, but never mind. He's got to be better than several of the recent centre backs you've mentioned. Let's hope so anyway. Morgan looks a decent signing as well.
Guess we will have to wait and see.

political views aside (not stupid enought to voice em), I think the brown move is a good one, assured no frills centre half, good talker & organisor and a vastly experienced player....dont know a lot about morgan.

Of course he has limitations but comfort yourself with the fact that when he was here our form picked up and we missed him when he left. Some may put that down to coincidence, but following his form for play off finishing Leicester I'd simply put it down to Wayne Brown being a very good Championship central defender.

Seriously Jack, I don't know how anyone can grumble at him purely from a football stance, he looked class when here...

The daft racist.

Like i say, not my choice but i'll give him a 2nd chance when on the match despite my views on him. Once you pull on the shirt and all that...

A shame that a certain troll on here can't do the same for Fergie. 🙄

I couldn't give a shit about politics so from a football point of view I am pleased with the signing of Brown. Don't know much about Morgan but he's an international so can't be too shabby. People scoff at the fact he plays for Wales but look at St Ledger, it's not as if he is playing for a leading football nation is he? St Ledger played in as many World Cups as Wales did this summer.

Please don't misquote me, I haven't described Shumi or Hart as "top class Championship players". They are, however, good enough to be part of a successful squad at this level, particularly Hart. Hart and Jones are fairly similar in terms of ability which begs the question if Jones has a future here, why doesn't Hart? In reality, we all know he's simply leaving because the manager needed scapegoats (and lots of them) for his disastrous 24 game tenure to date. Are this Welsh donkey and Leicester reject really any better than what we already had? 😕 🙄

How can that be? As Ireland got to the play offs!
