No offence, but if that's the case how much have you actually seen? 😱 😱
Unless you are at least 70 years old then you probably wouldn't have seen a lot better

I've been going for 20 odd years and I'd have to say that the 4-1 demolition of Leeds under Simmo was probably the best 90 minutes I've seen us play. Shame there wasn't more of that before it all went horribly wrong...
Indeed and from memory we were top of the table in October and drew a couple of home games otherwise we would have gone clear. Unfortunately he did lose his way, probably wasn't tough enough and lacked the 'bastard' qualities of a Davies or a Moyes. Fortunately he was sacked at the right time unlike our previous incumbent who was sacked 2 months too late
Wasn't the turning point when Craig Brown said the poison dwarf had two teams at the top of the Championship and Simpson then changed style of play, tactics and team selection?I can recall a very specific moment that was the turning point of the season for me - we went to St Andrews around October time, think we were top and they were second or thereabouts. After a very promising start Simon bloody Whaley wimped out of a challenge and they scored -McSheffrey I think (believe he got all 3 that day). That incident pretty much killed Whaley's career thereafter as he was never the same player again, and the early confidence drained out of us completely. As you say I don't think Simmo had enough overt "nastiness" to get us through and we've been in gradual decline since then.
