Nathan Ellington man of match yesterday opinions!!

Nathan Ellington got man of the match yesterday, How did you think he did and were you impressed with the performance?

Clearly a class above. But he needs decent service, not long, hopeful punts in his general direction. Shields the ball well, not easily knocked off it and obviously has a football brain. A pity we didn't get him a couple of months ago.

I agree the goals will come no doubt about it for me. The team just needs to create for each other and work hard and you may stay up.

Anything positive that we did involved Ellington.

He needs a goal to really set him off but he looked a cut above yesterday, first half particularly.

I was surprised at how well his all round footballing play was. He held the ball well, kept close control of the ball, could bring others into play, I was very impressed with him. He just needs a goal to get him going. Even in the second half, he was probably the only player who looked like he could do something for us.

Keeping positive on twitter, wish i could share the optimism!

@AmmarPNE Wa Salam thanks bro just wished that header went in 1st half. Could have been totally diff game! Keep positive! We are!

His all-round play was excellent, we have been missing a player like him since Nugent left. But he needs to start finding the net quickly. It's a double edged sword really, because we know what he can do, but if he does start sticking the ball in the net regularly and we go down then we will really struggle to hold onto him. Hope whatever happens he is in a white shirt come the start of next season, because he is the sort of player we need.

I agree. He linked up superbly with Johnson who tired in the second half.

I was actually impressed with Johnson too.

He showed flair and was far more composed than I was expecting.

One thing I would work on with him is where to run into to cause players problems. He was too close to Ellington at times when he should have been in the box trying to get on the end of a cross.

Sometimes I noticed that. He seemed to get a little too close, then end up in a position where he couldn't get passed too. I do think with a 2 man strike force that these two will work well. Once both of them get a goal, who knows what will happen!

Yeah I agree.

I hope Brown reverts back to a 4-4-2. We wouldn't have been so exposed down the left if we had had a left sided midfielder there to give the full back a bit of protection.

Yeah for sure, or even if it's something like 4-2-3-1, 4-4-1-1, 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2 .. just to give us a flat back four.

We had four at back yesterday. What we lacked was a left back, and also learnt that Barton can only play in a 5 man midfield.

Looked a tidy player from what i saw yesterday.

Ellington and Hume are by far and away our best two strikers.
