Lonergan to Cardiff / Everton ? (Merged)

Lonergan to Cardiff / Everton ? (Merged)

I'm sure Preston's finest won't be happy at being on the bench on Saturday - but that is where he will be.

This forum would be in meltdown if the form of the team improved dramatically at the same time as Lonergan was dropped

It would be no great surprise though would it John?

I guarantee, whether justified or not, that people will be calling Turner "crap" by Saturday evening because their hero has been dropped.

About fucking time as well, he's been dogwank for a long, long time.

Brown hasn't brought Turner to warm the bench Shakes that is for certain. I fully expect him (Turner) to be in goal on Saturday.

Personally I think 750 k from Everton + the offset of Turners wages against Lonergans for next season is not a bad deal.....I know nothing has been signed yet but surely Everton now have first refusal.

Refusal being the operative word when they send him packing following his trial.

While we are on the subject is Lonergan not due a testimonial....made his debut at Coventry in the league cup in 2000 as a 16 year old....so he has 10.5 years first team service.

Thinking about it the clock probably starts ticking from when he signed professional which was probably his 18th birthday. He will be 28 in October this year

bring on the meltdown, a dramatic improvement of form is what we all want, even if it means shakey saying "told you so" ;-)

You regularly complain about the standard of posts on this messageboard yet you're one of the most boring contributors on here. You don't rate Lonergan, you've made your point so stop repeating yourself and move on. Surely you must have something better to be doing?

Awww, has your hero been dropped?

You really are a pathetic specimen. Has it occurred to you that just because we don't all share your unhealthy, pathological hatred of Lonergan, doesn't mean we think he is without fault, or isn't due to be rested, dropped, or whatever. It doesn't mean we are 'Lonergan worshippers'. Why can't you get that into your head? A break, or even a change of club will do him good, and may even be best for PNE. He may never be a top Premiership keeper, he may never even play in The Premiership, but he is nowhere near as bad as you make out and is undeserving of your endless vitriol. Give it a rest, if only for your own sake-it can't be good for your health.

PS-I've realised that reading your posts is detrimental to my health, so you're on 'ignore' from now on.

well said that man. problem is another obsession will be just around the corner.

Dont think Shaky was guilty of this one, but the last Preston player whom i supported (and got serious stick on here for it) was Paul Mckenna.

I dont even need to say I told you so, the culprits must be embarassed enough.

Im not saying Lonergan being dropped will have the same negative impact, in fact it wont, because if we get someone better in it will obviously improve the team. It just shows how wrong people get things. They couldnt see the good mckenna did, we have struggled ever since as we have never replaced him. They cant see beyond Lonergan in the blame game. We might have improved our keeper but the defensive issues wont go away.

It will be someone else next.

I am certain the defence will improve if they know that they can trust the man behind them to catch it and give them the option of a pass back.

How come the only keepers I have had real issues with have been Lucas and Lonergan, it couldn't simply be that they weren't good enough could it?

No, its beacuse they had poor defenses in front of them and you couldnt see that.

I am sure Lonergan would have looked better had we regularly had people in front of him who could tackle, pass, mark or just defend to a reliable degree.

Anyway, I dont have a problem with replacing people with better places. I have a problem with the habitual scapegoating of one player, leading to being blind to reall issues throughout the team.

Out of interest, are we all seriously buying this 'he's still our player but it's OK for him to train with another club' BS??

At a time when team togetherness is more important than anything, letting your keeper train 40 miles away with a different team seems a weird way of going about it.

Can't help feeling patronised to when they hope we swallow the cock and bull story about 'revitalising Lonergan by training with a new club' rubbish. Magic and Trevor must think we're were born yesterday.

What fairy story is Magic going to concoct next? "We've asked the ticket office ladies to start kissing frogs in the hope that one of them turns into a Prince with a left foot?"

Lucas and Lonergan have had excellent defences in front of them and have still looked gash!

And what if he''s throwing a paddy about being dropped and sulking like a child? We don't want discontented and petulant players around the place with our dilemma. Moyes has known him since a kid, and may have offered him the opportunity to train with them. Beckham has been training with Spurs and what's happened there?

You might be right. In any event - what we've been told is complete fabrication.

So you didnt think Tepi was prown to holwers?

Also, you cant say that

Alexander Mawene Davis Hill

didnt offer a better defense than

Jones Cort Brown St ledger (or a current mixture with morgan in there too).
