Robbie Savage has grown on me since he's become a bbc regular pundit. He's still a big gob of course, but I'm now used to ignoring him when he talks utter bollocks.... and it is refreshing to hear unequivocal views.

Nice to hear him talking about Preston as a big(gish) club on here... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16202888.stm

I think, like a lot of people, I feel so battered by what's happened over the last 18 months, that you forget that, in the wider football community, we're still viewed as an important club.

I turned the video off after he said Chris Samba hasn't been an instrumental force for Rovers like he was last season. The guy clearly doesn't watch any matches.

I agree thought he was a bit of a knob as a player but that is what his game was about getting in your face. As a pundit he seems very knowlageable and is well articulated, i like him. As for his preston comments he may be right, as it seems our club is as they say a poisened chalice at the moment, good managers and coaches come to preston then suddenly overnight they go crap. reflection on them or us as a club i do not know.

I don't see much evidence of good managers turning into crap managers at North End. Who has gone on to be a good manager after leaving Deepdale, apart from Moyes and, possibly, BD? Simpson - unlikely to manage again. Irvine - ditto. Ferguson - time will tell but I see it all ending in tears again at Peterborough. Phil Brown - can't see him getting another job. Bombed at Derby, bombed at North End, had fleeting success at Hull until his ego took over and he was eventually found wanting. Since BD we have been on a downward path. I hope we can get him back.

I hope we don't get Billy back. It'd be like going back in for Macken, Healy, Dichio and any other player who had their time at Preston. They went for a reason. I don't like the idea of Preston being a jilted lover, always chasing the illusive, unloyal philanderer, just because he might make us happy.

Analogy aside, Davies went a bit bonkers at North End. When he left, many sighed relief. Yes, he was hard working, but staying in and watching 20 hours of last match coverage and cutting your own gag reel will send you loopy. It's the footy equivalent of Warcraft.

As for managers not cutting it after PNE, they've had chances. Irvine to Wednesday, Simpson to Shrewsbury, etc. Even Brian Kidd got 2nd chance saloon.

We are not an elephant's graveyard for managers with ability. Likewise, a neutral manager with no connection may reinvent this club. I'm happy to give Alexander his chance, but for me he contributed to our plight when he returned. Like Davies, we can't keep living to replay past glories.

robbie was spot on apart from pne being a big club, surely you need to keep your best players 2 be called that ! all pne r doing at the moment r treading water, need new owners asap b4 we get made bankrupt, but why oh why has the bankrupcy man joined the club ???? its a bad sign for any club 2 have mr bankrupcy ridsdale working 4 em, u have been warned beware of the smiling assassin and the official receiver.

I'm guessing lasher.

Why do people who clearly don't have a view - Savage, Claridge, Manish - try to engineer one. Surely much better to say
"I don't really know" in the voice of Les Dennis/Mavis Riley.
