they may have had most of the possession but we looked comfortable and in control.
That's not how it came across on the matchday thread !
I thought we "defended like beavers"!
I don't know about "in control", but some really tough, gritty & hardworking shifts put in there tonight!
Well done lads 🙂

MK Dons had a lot of possession but never really looked like scoring to me. We defended superbly, especially the two Central Defenders. It was a solid away performance.
watched that on tv here, we did well to hold out. got some lady luck could of been down to 10 men but how often do you see it when a manager gets sacked you tend to gat a response from your players.

what happened with the 'nearly down to ten men' incident?
Some really solid performances and certainly a platform to move on from - however, once Mellor went off and Barton came on, we really struggled. Hume simply isnt match fit and it showed whereas Tsoumou is just plain shit.

from what I gather... the ref owed us one.

Thought so to. We should have had a penalty in the first half for a trip on Coutts.

MK Dons manager said they deserved something from the game. They dominated possession but we scored and hit the woodwork twice. We showed real desire and the commitment was faultless. I think we earned our three points.

Don't know, he touched him but didn't hold or push him. It is a contact sport and the ref got it right. Tsounou and McLaughlin had good chances. I thought we were good value for a 1 goal win.

this exactly, Barton was...well Barton.
First time i've seen that Tsoumo , i don't like slagging our players off but the guy just cannot make that ball stick to his feet, christ if Hume would have been put through on goal like he was...not going on but he has a dire first touch.

There wasn't a chance which they had which if you watched it again you'd think, they really should've scored..
They had half chances here an there but we defended brilliantly and the defence was quality.

Apart from awful touch when clean thru I thought he was ok.

I felt the Referee on balance got it right, coz the first one I felt was not a booking and I think the Referee only gave it on Linesman advice. One thing that did annoy me was how many leading with Elbows and trailing Arms they got away with. I think it was McCombe was the one that went in at half time with a Gash on his head. MK Dons were lucky themselves not to get any bookings. Referee was ok considering the crap we have had this season, but not very consistant with the cards and decisions. Penalty, maybe not, but he let them get away with Handball and punished us. The only reason we had a Prem Referee today, because the FA and Football League don't want to show just how bad the Standards of Refereeing actually is in League 1.
First 15 - 20 mins we played better than we have done all season. The whole team looked up for it. We deserved to go one up. However as they clawed their way back into it and after Mellor went off we lost some of our fluidity but defended resolutely. I honestly believe we deserved and should have got the penalty and not the yellow for a dive. The 'sending off' incident was a second yellow but the referee obviously tried to even things up for some poor decisions by the linesman. We were unlucky that the two post hits didn't result in goals - both were terrific attempts. Well done lads - play with that much grit again next week and we could be in the playoffs if everything goes to our advantage.
ps. Somebody give Sumo some lessons in ball control please.

I agree with the Post Heading. We did deserve to win. They had far more possession but did very little with it. The defence today was superb........infact the whole team put in a great shift.
I know it's easy to say now, but my thoughts prior to the game when I saw the team sheet were 'Win, draw or lose, I am happy with the team selection' which is something I can't say for several weeks previously. We had a balanced look.
We won't lose many games if we play with the same attitude and application.

I don't know how you get to this conclusion. More like desperate defending on the edge of our own box for 50 minutes and a failure to take several gilt edged chances to seal the result.
