What's with the Billy Davies hating all of a sudden?

What's with the Billy Davies hating all of a sudden?

Come back to me when Phil Brown has put three struggling clubs into the play-offs.

Fair play Hull was a tough task, but Derby, PNE and Forest were all equally as hard.

I'm in no way a Phil Brown fan and if you trace back through my posts you will probably see how I was full of support for him and as months went by it dwindled. You will also see that I have voted for Billy Davies but the more I think of it I am starting to think we have been bitten once, who is to say he won't do it again?

I loved the Davies years, but I am starting to think that this is clouding my judgement along with many others. We have a good youth set up and it would be foolish to destroy it (nobody is saying thats going to happen though).

Also the more I think about it Davies would want his whole entourage back with him and this would completely contradict the Trevor Hemmings cost cutting plan.

It's a tough one for PR and I don't envy him in the decision he has to make. There are some good managers out there, but on the other hand Unsworth and Alexander could be good managers and we could cast them out similar to what happened with Big Sam years ago.

Whoever we appoint I just hope its the right one and I still believe we can get promoted with the side we have.

Engineered 3 sackings, fallen out with every board he has worked with, 1 promotion (via playoffs), the season after promotion his side amassed 11 points (6 on the board by the time he had forced the sacking). On the very day he took Derby up, demanded a pay-rise on live TV or he was off.

Just to balance up the BD love in posts a bit.

It is much easier with money and Billy had it. Phil Brown took Hull up and kept them there. Good manager?

Yes, but its still not a given. You still have to motivate your squad.

Phil Brown did a very good job at Hull. However, one swallow and all that...

It would be nice if people thought it through. Billy has a talent for sure, but he was only able to over-achieve as he puts it when he has outspent everyone else. At PNE he claims he only had a modest budget but at the time everyone else was cutting back post ITV digital and he was still allowed to sign 25 players.

At Derby he spent £5m to get them promoted and another £25m to get them relegated again. At Forest, the chairman pumped in £7m a year to finance Davies spending even though they get £25,000 gates.

Is there any evidence at all that Billy can function at a club where he will have to sell sell and sell and will have severe restrictions on wages and transfer fees?

I don't want him, I seriously dislike him.

Well you do surprise me. 😉

You do understand that you are allowed to have a differing opinion to Derek.

I'm sure he will still send you a Christmas card.

I think everyone is in agreement that Billy Davies is a twat, but at the moment he is a twat that would get us promotion.
