Just to show the members, patrons and guests of this forum what we think of what King Billy might or might not have done

1. Had Billy been given the job before Brown, would we have been relegated?

2. Now we are in the 3rd tier of English football would Billy get us promoted asap?

3. If Billy were given a 3 year deal would he, in that time and given the financial backing, get PNE into the Premier League?

These are the fundamental questions I ask myself about recruiting the man. What do you think?

1. Why would he have left Forest to come to us. Are you dense?

2. No. He would go on about "little Preston" and that the squad is so poor he would need to spend £5m.

3. Of course he would! And if he didn't it would be someone else's fault.

1. Not a chance
2. Yes with this squad
3. His 3 year plan would leave us better than Magic Mo's 3 year plan, that's for sure! 😡

1. It's unlikely, although I'd think Billy might have taken it to the final match. Then again, would that necessarily have been a good thing?
2. Not this season, but next. Imposing his ideas on our current squad of players would take a while and, though we might get to the playoffs, one of Charlton/Sheff Wed/Huddersfield is bound to drop into them. You'd have to make them massive favourites to go up.
3. It depends what you mean by 'financial backing' - Billy's definition may vary wildly from yours or mine. This I suppose is the strange thing about him since his strength is as an organiser/tracksuit manager, while his record at getting value for money in the transfer market is very mixed.

If only he angled himself as 'the guy who can improve what you already have', which let's face it is true, then he'd constantly have chairmen ringing him. Certainly wouldn't be perceived as damaged goods, that's for sure.
