With peace from Coventry.

You have a good side this year, especially with the signing of Davies, you must surely be looking at the play-offs as a realistic target for this season?

Sadly, I will not be attending on Sunday out of protest about the move. I have read on your forum that some people are saying that we should be giving the club all of our money as it is needed now, more than ever. The thing is there is 2 reasons why you will outnumber us on sunday. (and I really hope you do)

1) the NOPM (NotOnePennyMore) campaign is about fans who think that by giving the club no streams of revenue this will force their hand into selling the club.

This stance I have no confidence in, whatsoever. The owners had opportunities to sell and cut their losses when we were in admin, facing liquidation, under an embargo, no ground to play in, breakdown in relationship with fans, an irretrievable breakdown in relationship with the council and 2 serious bids for the club (american billionaire and A coventry business man with investment from china) SISU still would not sell. Nothing suggests to me that that will be the case, going forward.

2) The stance I adopt is one out of principle. my conscience will not allow me to drive 34 miles away from my home city to watch them play at home. We have a 32,000 seater stadium in Coventry and were offered to play their for £150,000 this year. At Northampton it is reported we are playing league one average which is actually £170,000 a year. I cannot justify this stubborness on both sides of this pathetic mess.

The only ones being hurt are us supporters. I find it disheartening that after 36 years of being a season ticket holder I cannot bring myself to attend home games any longer.

That being said, I will be attending the reverse at your place as i will every away game. I have never saw a CCFC team beat you at deepdale so maybe this is our lucky year haha.

Anyway good luck for sunday and the rest of the season PNE and please, fill your end at Sixfields

Good luck in your fight.

If this ever happened to PNE, I would rather that an offshoot club of Preston (Preston (NE) with the (NE) standing for New Era as an example) started in the depths of non-league alá Wimbledon, Halifax, Chester to name but a few.

Has this concept been discussed as an end game in Coventry?

Yes avidly. However only as a last resort if the club ceases to exist. The attachment to the club would be so difficult to breakdown that it would need to club to just fold completely. I can live with bad owners we have had bad owners since we won the cup in 87. We want our club home.

The thing is people think the campaign will force the owners to sell the club but I feel it will harm the club way before it harms the owners. Imagine if noone bought the shirt for years, no Cov kids went to games the attachment to the city will disappear and then it would be so easy for SISU to relocate. This is my fear

How will the 60% Fair Play Rules affect Coventry next season?

On gates of around 2,000, your projected income streams will seriously limit who you can bring in and afford to the club or is this again a tactic that has been discussed by the fans and one that they are willing to use?

As good a start as you have had, you could be another Portsmouth in L2 before it gets better.

Do you think the ultimate aim of SISU is to relocate your club?

I think it might have been my post you read, regarding the FFP ruling, as I am deeply concerned at how your club can survive next year within the 60% income on crowds of 2k a week.
All football supporters want to see other clubs survive and do whatever they can to help (in recent years helping raise money for clubs like Bury and Chester when they were in danger of folding for example) but I don't see how staying away will help anything. Please don't take any offence as none is intended but in my opinion staying away deliberately is a cop out by some fans. Now genuinely the distance is too far to travel to get to home games by the vast majority of supporters who would love to attend games and I have massive sympathy for those who want to support their club through this difficult time but can't, I just don't see what good the people who go to stand outside the ground and not give a penny are doing?
Is it not playing in to the hands of someone who might want to set up a new "franchise" team at the Ricoh?
Your club is it real danger of folding but someone might have one eye on aquiring a Premiership standard stadium on the cheap of they have a club but rubbish ground.... Stranger things have happened and there are plenty of frankly mental football club owners out there. The owners of the stadium will want to fill it somehow, they won't just bulldoze it!
Your owners have moved the club out of town but stated that it is with the long-term plan of getting your own ground again, rent free and just outside town. Just like Pride Park, the Reebok, and other similar new grounds. What is wrong with that? Surely it's better than handing over a massive cheque to someone else every year?!!!
I hope in 5 years time your club is as close to home again as possible and certainly wish you the very best of luck off the pitch.

Another horrible scenario although I am not sure how it could legally happen, is that those Green and Whites in Glasgow could well be watching this situation with interest.

It is well known that they want to come down here. Wasn't there a strong rumour within the media of them "taking over" Bury had they folded?

A scary thought.

What a brilliant picture that is!

I have every sympathy for Coventry fans cant imagine how I would feel if this happened to us.

Biggest mistake Cov made IMO was leaving highfield road. Cracking ground full of atmosphere, will always remember our last game there a 2-2 draw Tuesday night match we took a great following that night.

Neither Rangers nor Celtic have the word "Glasgow" anywhere on their badge....

I don't get this Coventry stuff and any relationship with Glasgow, look at how the Rangers fans supported the team rather than who the owner was/is and even being relegated three leagues they still turned out in their 10's of thousands.

Coventry have played to falling gates for years now so their support has hardly been loyal irrespective of who owns the club.

Billy, there is no relationship as far as I am aware, I was pointing out that if there is a decent sized empty ground going spare...stranger things in football have happened.

I was simply throwing it out there into the mix!

If we didn't have Burnley on Tuesday night I reckon we'd take a lot more on Sunday, but despite cheap travel, a lot of people (me included) can't afford to do both particularly with Walsall next Saturday and had to prioritise, and a lot of people will pick Burnley over Coventry I reckon

I cannot understand your logic in Celtic moving to Coventry just to play in England, when all the stuff about Rangers and Celtic playing in England was going on it was that they would not move from their own grounds yet bring at least 20k drunken Jocks, Mancs, Scoucers, Irish etc etc to away fixtures.

If it in the short term gained them a foothold before moving back North of the Border a season or two later and continuing to play down here in our leagues...

You, as well as I know, know that the game NotB is dying on it's arse. Celtic have wanted out for ages if the press is anything to go by.

Like I said, I am simply throwing this scenario out there and given the shysters at SISU, I wouldn't put anything past them where a quick buck is concerned if Coventry fans are to be believed.

Lets hope that Coventry come to a sensible resolve soon.

Upto last season for reasons not to go into today I hated Coventry and its fans, however as a Football fan, I hate seeing what is happening at Coventry and I feel that your fans problems are not just with SISU, but with Football in general. The League have buckled and Dug your fans a hole that the fans can't get out of, nor will the Football League help you get out of, because they won't admit they got it wrong. I wish your fans luck because I would hate it to happen to PNE. But don't give up the fight.

I reckon the Football League will bend its rules again to save it self from the damage its done.

Some good points my friend........However - and I speak only for myself - I have a deep rooted passion for my club and being a fan I am the only constant the club will ever have. I will be there long after all the current players and chairman and owner have been and gone (God willing of course). It`s Preston North End Football Club I support and no individual or group associated with it - apart from the fans obviously.

I hugely applaud you taking a stand against what you believe to be wrong but the players need your support on Sunday.......fuck the idiots trying to mess things up. Go and support YOUR team for better or worse till death us do part.

You know it makes sense.

I believe Coventry City ladies are playing at the Ricoh on Sunday. Imagine the statement it would make if all your fans turned up on Sunday to support A Coventry team? Seriously try to get it organised. I know for a fact that TV cameras are going to be there aswell.
