11500 on against 5th when we are 4th and they brought at least 3000.

Our support is very poor at the minute and needs to pick up soon.

We all need to encourage those not attending to come along and support the team.

No complaints about those that are coming but was embarrassing tonight with Bradford laughing as they announced the crowd.

I would have hoped for 10000 home fans by this stage given our position.

Not winning won't have helped. Like it or not, the fans will only return in large numbers when PNE start winning consistently at home.

I was watching the Champions league on SKY. Sorry 😱

Simply can't afford it. I have a 4 month old so he comes first. Would love to come and cheer the lads on but it's too expensive for me I'm afraid.

Sad times looking around Deepdale tonight. You can't blame people for not wanting to pay the prices though.

I can sense some impending Ridsdale bashing.

Ticket prices are quite simply extortionate for league one football. The modern game is fucked. It is a shame that we get poor crowds but in today's economic climate it's hardly surprising.

it is dissapointing, i expected Bradford to be well supported, after all Bradford is a fairly big city + they have alot of momentum after last season. years of decline is clearly affecting our support, even when we're winning the casual fans are put off.
then again Burnley are top of the Championship and their average crowd this season is around 10,000, take away maybe on average 1,000 away fans per game and they're getting around 9,000 home fans.

Exactly - with a wife and a kid it is too much to pay for a Tuesday nights entertainment. As much as I love North End, I won't skint myself over them.

...and as somebody posted earlier last week. Would you rather have 10,0000 on at £20 a ticket or 20,000 on at £10 a ticket. The answer is pretty obvious. The riddler doesn't seem to see it like this though.

Agree. It's the same across the board unfortunately and when a team like Peterborough charges away fans £28 on the day for league 1 football in a shed, you know there is a problem. North End are in fact about average in this league when it comes to prices. It takes times to win fans back though, hopefully we will see an improvement come the new year if we are still competing at the right end of the league.

+1

Who cares if Bradistan fans were laughing and joking, they was in League 2 last season and they are from a City famous for EDL marches.

Football is simply to dear to watch. Lots of low crowds tonight, 1100 on at Accrington. Football needs a reality check .Would have cost £ 35.00 tonight with admission pint & petrol. League 1 football should be £10.00 .

We would never get 20k on for £10 a ticket! More likely get 10-11k. We got 17.5k on at home to Blackpool at £10 a ticket and that's including 4k Blackpool AND the fact it's our biggest derby. Although I don't agree with the high prices it does make sense from a revenue perspective. Even lowering the ticket prices slightly to try and entice more people would see the club lose out on a significant amount of money.

When you consider the crowds against Wolves and Blackpool it was a poor crowd. Fourth against Fifth with a big away crowd and the only home game in a fortnight - there won't be many bigger games this season.

I dont give a cuss what Ridsdale might say, as a North End supporter I think it was a disappointment.

For me, the passion has gone in football. I used to watch PNE all over the country and had some great times. I live 3 hours from Preston now so generally only watch us away. The 3 away games I've been to this season have been all similar in that we play controlled football but have no incisiveness, no cutting edge. There's no real excitement. I was intending to go to notts county but I'll probably see the same old. The fact that its £24 has put me off considering it would be quite expensive with my wife and kids wanting to go.
So to answer your question - for me: firstly price, then passion, then lack of excitement.
I love PNE don't get me wrong but maybe clubs should do more for the fans with lower prices and football like Peterborough played against us in the first half.

There are a number of reasons imo why fans are not attending, the cost is one, winning and entertaining football will help, but i'm afraid alot of damage was done by GW and his style of football and approach to the game. We lost 2,000 fans or so whilst he was in charge and many have not returned and that was after a poor previous season and relegation before that. Once people stop attending and use their hard earned cash for other types of entertainment it is difficult to re-attract them.
Bradford have built up a rapour with their fans over the last 6 or 7 years, offering cheap season tickets whilst they struggled in the division below us, the fans stuck with the club and they regulary attracted 10,000 at home even though the team was struggling.
Last season the gamble paid off for the club, they won promotion and got to a Wembley final, the club still kept the season ticket price low this season and they have been backed by their fans with attendances at home of 14,000, the fans have the feel good factor and are following the club.
Oh and on tonights performance they also looked a stronger and more attacking team than North End, a winger not just with pace, but skill and who could beat a defender, a centre forward who our defenders struggled to deal with all night and won the vast majority of challenges, creating good opportunities.
Enjoyed the game, we created chances from set pieces mainly, still think we can make top six, but also think Bradford will be there, the season has a long way to go still, but think Wolves and Peterborough will be battling out for the top two, we will need to strengthen in January to get between these two.

Of course my figures are hypothetical but at the end of the day lowering the ticket price can compensate by the amount of merchandise/pies etc that are sold. Twice as many pies sold = twice as much profit.
