Summer 2022 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

Summer 2022 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

It's probably because it's another gamble and we don't have the funds to constant be gambling that a player will suddenly go a season with out getting injured.

Brady is a decent player but I thought we wanted players who can play 30 36 games a season?
Maybe that's where Lowe's sudden exclamation that 2 x LWBs are needed has come from.

Fancies Brady but doesn't have guarantees he can stay fit.

Fair enough. Probably heard he wanted a move to England so we decided to enquire and see where it went
He's got two years left on his deal at Salzburg. It would have been a loan deal at most imho. So I'm not too sure what "too greedy" has to do with it. Obviously some foriegn players would want some form of relocation benefits package. Not just the phone number for Farrington Lodge.

To get quality players you gotta pay out money for them. North End need to accept that. And stop wasting what little resources we do have on guys who'll spend all year in the physio room.

We've just shed £5m-£7m off the wage bill. Are the club really just putting the sign back up from last summer? "waifs and strays wanted".

Never got a decent crack at Burnley had injuries but Dyche didn’t seem to like him from day one .
Played 50 times for Ireland so not that injury prone .
Let’s face it at Bournemouth they had a strong squad .

Since the start of 2019, he has been out injured on 15 separate occasions.

Granted he didn't get a look in at Bournemouth as they already had a strong squad but his injury record is poor.

Clubs pay good money for services like that, you can't expect it for free on a forum.

What sort of budget have we got anyway? Does it not match our promises, is that the problem?

Where they promises or desires?

I don't think I ever heard the word promise..unless someone can clarify that for me?

Completely different. Woodburn is no crock, is younger and has had massive potential. Thomas was a very weird one.
He's obviously struggling to show it. He's had four loan spells and has flattered to deceive in all of them.

Providing he's cheap and we have space, I wouldn't be against giving him a two-year deal as an extra option in the #8 role.

Should, at best for now, be a 1 year (+1) if he performs. Can't afford passengers who cost a decent wage.

Woodburn is a weird one. Highly rated at Liverpool but then just fizzled out. His loans were unspectacular and he's at a point now where he needs to kick on.

You could draw parallels to Josh Bowler for them lot. He was crap on loan for Hull and didn't even make the breakthrough at Everton whereas Woodburn did make some first team appearances.

Might be one where Lowe sticks and arm round him and he shines.

Consistent niggles during his Burnley days meaning he’s probably never been able to stay fit consistently. Also had a couple of big injuries earlier on in his career.

That wasn't why he was hardly involved though.

Brady signed for them in October but was injured and unable to train until December, when he started 1 game (a home defeat) and made a couple of sub appearances.

He then disappeared from the squad for a few months, and was back in training in March, eventually making his comeback with a couple of sub appearances in April, and a start on the last day of the season.

We can't land players who would have a few championship options as we just can't afford competitive wages

Then we're left shopping in the bargain basket again looking at players who were once good or showed some promise but are hampered by injury

But we could fuck both of them approaches off and look at identifying players we could develop and move on for substantial fees.............. But nah let's carry on as we were

Not sure that is the question for your average fan to answer, people can suggest the odd player they may have notice at a game or on TV.

Football clubs have scouts and analysts and all sorts of contacts.

Think what pisses some off at the moment is that the talk from the club was of a smaller squad, better quality and less injury prone, and what appears to be happening is quite the opposit.

Fair to say that it is mostly rumour at the moment although the latest one on trial doesn’t appear to fit into the robust section.

No one has a clue what is going on behind the scenes ...how many players we have spoke to, the reason why its not got any further (personality/attitude wasn't right) wages were a non starter etc...

I think it's better that there taking there time and not jumping into rash decisions and buying names and bowing down to ridiculous wage demands.

Look at the mancs since taggart left rash decision after rash decision no plans just go out and buy big names and look where that's got them.. they are just an example
