Matchday Thread PNE v Ipswich - 03/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

Countered them for fun? We had 3 shots in the 2nd half and one of them was from a corner. We only really had a chance to get up the pitch after the 2nd goal when they chucked 9 players up the pitch.

Your comment on McKenna is absolutely hilarious. One has his team 4th in the league (in his first season at this level) and the other (in his third season) has his side 10th.

I know who I’d prefer in the dugout, even ignoring today’s game.

But we all know you have to say weird things to come across as edgy.

Did I say shots? Better link up between Osmijic and better play from Riis we’re in/creating more.

The Mckenna comment is fine, I’d rather have McKenna but your adding to what I said to try and make it grow legs, spoken like a true solicitor and by the sound of it a poor one at that.

You just get back to embellishing rumours to get your fix why not get your white ranger mate involved as well and we will have another game of your dads harder than my Dad.

Serious lemons who think they are somebodies.

Good first half, poor second half. Moore is a superb player at this level, though I think we gave him too much space. There was very little quality in any of the 5 goals. No idea why teams persist with playing out the back when their keeper treats the ball like a bomb.

Think we just about edged it today, however I’d have had no complaints if they got a late equaliser. I had a feeling we would win, we seem to do better against the better teams, so I imagine we will lose to Cardiff next week.

Wasn’t honestly too impressed with Ipswich, they’ll get battered come playoff time, however McKenna has done a superb job to even get them there. 3 points, a disgusting goal difference and 3 teams separate us from the playoffs, they still remain a long shot. Nice to win though.

First time I've posted on here in a week.

But I forgot that Im not allowed to come on here to give some balance and perspective, in the face of all the endless bullshit thrown at our manager.

Now I'm being rounded upon for enjoying a superb win, supporting our manager, giving a different opinion to the mass hysteria and calling people out for their unrelenting, unwarranted bullshit.

I was threatened last Saturday with being gang raped if I stuck around to give an opinion that was counter to the hive.

No doubt the poster and his sad fucker groupies found someone else to pick on. It's online bullying at its finest.

Sitting on here squabbling might be your idea of a perfect Saturday night, but it's not mine.

Ta ta.

RLSWA
It’s not bullshit, tho, is it?

Don’t present yourself as the arbiter of truth, and then lie in the same sentence.

Great three points but we didn’t half make hard work of it following a really good first half.

Not sure if it is a fitness thing or tactical mistakes but we always invite teams on in the last 15 minutes.

Anyway, its three good points.
Just got home.
Firstly a great 3 points.
Right, let's look at the rest of thatc2nd half.
Did anybody have a knock?
If I've missed anythin, fair enough, I don't recall seeing anyone struggling.
Up until then, it's Ipswich lookin better 2nd half but mainly shots from 20-30 yards our.
Then the changes, then pandemonium.
Why??!!
They had offered pretty much zero up until then, considering their lofty position
Add to that some very strange should I come, should I stay goalkeeping from Woodman an you almost had a recipe for disaster.
Just because you gave shitloads of subs in this day an age, doesn't mean you have to use them.
Such bloody hard work when it shouldn't have got anywhere near that

We are a weird team aren't we?!?
At half time, I was really thinking Lowe might be turning a corner. By full time I was grateful we'd got anything out of the game, we were so tactically poor and naive.
STOP CAMPING OUT INSIDE THE BOX, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OPPOSITION HAVE AN ENORMOUS CENTRE FORWARD.
Sorry, I have to shout to get myself heard without having any credentials.

We did well first half, but can't deny we were massively fortunate for the first two goals.

I just don't like this feeling that we're always going to fuck it up, whether we have a 2 or even 3 goal lead, i've never had this under other managers. Whether it's a lack of game management, poor fitness, or teams working us out with no reply from the dug out. We just look like we're hoping for the best after 75 minutes.
I reckon Lowe would have struggled to get us promoted if he came in at half time of the Swindon play off final.

They changed things up completely to be fair, massively stretched the pitch to ensure he got as much service as possible, and got from back to front as quickly as possible. Simple tweaks but we had no response. I don't get how we had 3 CBs and not one of them was told to stand on him at all times, we just continued what we were doing.

Zonal marking.

Anyway...

I thought the first half was a very good and solid performance. Granted Ipswich were shit at the back but our forward line took advantage of it.

Keane, Riis and Mads works a treat as well as Millar on the left.

Another impressive performance from Keane who not only weighs in with this share of goals but also busts a gut.

Second half, not sure what happened but we just couldn't counter Ipswich and certainly Moore. Rode our luck a bit and felt it showed again our defensive frailties. We looked quite tired as well.

Overall, a superb result against a team we have a shaky record against.
Despite my own opinions and what others might think, I will give credit to Lowe for the way we set up in the first half.

i think if you went around the forum and asked, the majority would say you are much worse than a pleb…

Anyway, thought you were logging off because you don’t ’want to argue’?

Can’t help yourself can you. Just a flip flapping WUM.

Get a life you sad act. You must be confused about why you don't intimidate me.

At least I have the strength to form and hold my own opinion.

Thanks for allowing me to post this.

Lemming.

I think Lindsay was struggling - but I presume you meant did any of the subbed players have a knock. If you’re going to sit back, the .obvious change is the big lad who heads it for fun but Whatmough hardly warmed up.

And I know the opposition are going to come at you but you don’t have to accept that. It is possible to push forward or push on even when the opposition come at you. We chose not to.

There have been plenty of periods where a 2 or 3 goal lead has felt totally insecure - not just under Lowe!

I think we caught Ipswich at a good time but nevertheless, they’re a top side and I do think that midtable teams are always very likely to find themselves under big pressure in the second half in such a match. It happens time and again, in every division, almost irrespective of how the lower team is managed.

Are you on about the one potential counter attack in the 92nd minute when they gave it away? Wow, bloody hell, countering ‘for fun’ there.

I’m not adding to what you said at all. You were the one that said he got done by Lowe today and were insinuating that he was the better coach. Let’s not take the piss. You like to drop a bomb and then pretend you didn’t mean it. Or pretend you didn’t mean it in that way. You’ve been doing it for years.

Mates, yes. I have them outside of the forum. I’m sure that’s a novel concept for you.
