Matchday Thread PNE v Ipswich - 03/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

Brilliant first half, great pressing and took the 3 chances well. We knew Ipswich would come out second half and we didn't react. Taking Millar off was a mistake they has free reign of the left hand side. First goal Millar unlucky with the megs. Then we just sat deeper and deeper with little control of the ball. Ozzie is clearly short of confidence and didn't stretch them enough. Freddie needs to command his box and needs to be better for the second. The issue we have is the starting 11 are championship quality then the majority of the bench is league one. Great 3pts hopefully lowe learns how to manage a game better.

Let me see if I can bring some clarity to this result (which of course I'm delighted with of a Saturday evening). Remember though, no badges, know
f*ck all about football, wouldn't know my tit from my arse. My eyes might be playing tricks on me but like the first, wasn't the second another own goal? From where I was sat sitting it certainly looked like it. Two own goals and another that was a bit fortunate. They also hit the post.

So, pleased but were we not a tad fortunate? Thanks for reading this sh*t and have a great evening !

Well, you've got to be up the right end of the pitch to get that fortune.

Good first half, poor second half. Moore is a superb player at this level, though I think we gave him too much space. There was very little quality in any of the 5 goals. No idea why teams persist with playing out the back when their keeper treats the ball like a bomb.

Think we just about edged it today, however I’d have had no complaints if they got a late equaliser. I had a feeling we would win, we seem to do better against the better teams, so I imagine we will lose to Cardiff next week.

Wasn’t honestly too impressed with Ipswich, they’ll get battered come playoff time, however McKenna has done a superb job to even get them there. 3 points, a disgusting goal difference and 3 teams separate us from the playoffs, they still remain a long shot. Nice to win though.
I'd have plenty of complaints with those ridiculous substitutions.
The real panic set in from there.
It was plain to see

No I was going on about a few counter attacking opportunities where we were countering and the final pass was lacking.

Ahh insinuations now, so you’re making stuff up and embellishing again to have your fix, shite solicitor tactics 101.

Hanging out with the local rainbow bus window lickers will always be a novel concept to me.
I go at posters who come on here and have a go at someone over the ITK information.

Not unusual for the bullies to claim they’re the victims like in yours and the white rangers case.

But, but, but, I’m the ‘bully’ when you’re now taking the piss out of someone with a mental illness? Are you for real? Make it make a little bit of sense, Ron. I know that must be difficult for you.

Not sure how I’ve claimed I’m the victim absolutely anywhere, and out of all of the posters on here, you’re the last person I’d care about in relation to your opinion of me.

It is funny how you bang on about (lie) about me being a ‘bully’ but the only account I ever argue with (like literally everyone else on here) is you.

Maybe you should start looking a little closer to home, buddy.

Stopped reading after you brought the mental illness shite into it.

See that’s your victim card Ace up the sleeve you try to play.

Bullying victim all rolled into one.

Great first half and don’t think it was lucky at all. Second half was always going to be hard work and Moore is a nightmare to play against when balls are flying in the box. Ipswich won’t go up and neither will we.

We have a good first XI but I don’t think the subs were the issue I just think we sat back too much.

Thought we should have had a free kick for the back pass incident but it was that close to the line it would have been hard to score

We have i feel in my humble opinion the strongest squad we have had in many a year and we are one of the better teams in this division when we are on it. Just hope we kick on now and have a great second half of season.

Tactically spot on in the first half. Was some of the best football we've played in ages.

Second half, knew that Moore was going to come on. The way they were hassling us, I thought we were going to concede early. I think it started to go wrong for us when we made those subs. McCann, Osmaijic and Brady didn't play that badly; it's just that by losing Frokjaer and Millar, we were inviting pressure. Every time we countered up to Osmaijic, he had no support. Him and Keane were having to press their back line all by themselves. It allowed Ipswich to make the chances they did and we very nearly lost the three points because of it.

Ultimately, it's a win and we get closer to the 50 point mark. From the way they played, you can tell Ipswich are off form
