Matchday Thread PNE v Hull City - 02/03/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

That second half was a really good watch, and I think we edged it overall.

McCann my man of the match, but I also thought Whiteman was very good, and maybe the first and last time i'll ever say this, but Storey was excellent.

Taking Mads off with half an hour to go, arguably our only one genuinely creative player. Yeah outstanding game man management.
Fuckin rubbish. There was nothing wrong with the change, You and one or two otheres are just desperate for something to grumble about. That was a bloody good performance from minute one to minute 95. Great match. and a draw an absolute fair result.

I'll take that result, played well against a top six side, i don't think either sides had any clear cut chances- but it was an entertaining match.👍
RLSWA......

Great match, disappointing result looking at the table of course. We certainly didn't deserve to lose but did we really do enough to win? Perhaps not. A draw was fair.
McCann head and shoulders the MotM today. Brilliant performance. Millar got into it in the second half particularly and it was good to see Holmes back fit. There were a couple of dodgy moments for Storey against Philogene in the first half, but he snuffed him out in the second half fairly well. Two class saves from Woodman.
For them, I thought Morton was excellent and Coyle did well. A good honest scrap with Millar.
MFJ going off was odd. So long as he's fit and raring to go against Saints, fair enough.

In the grand scheme of things, a good point. Maybe a slight penalty call? Perhaps, but overall I don't think the ref was as bad as some have made out like he was.Two good teams clawing their way for every point in the playoff push and it was a good watch.

Hull will be slightly happier with that in getting a point away from home and still be 3 ahead of us, but still all to play for with 11 games left. Shame Norwich won, but we just need to focus on our own results from here on out and anything is possible.I do think its clear to me that it is gonna be either us, Norwich, or Hull for that 6th spot.

We can do it, just keep the faith!

Southampton not in the best form right now, especially defensively, we need to take advantage of that.

Norwich nicking that winner against Sunderland more or less pushes Sunderland out of the ‘mini league’ for 6th. Great point - but what is more important is that for once, the performance against a top 6 rival was good.

Still plenty to play for of course and things can change very quickly, Southampton becomes even more important with against Middlesbrough, and Coventry against Rotherham.

Hull have Birmingham, but that will be a tough one for them, seeing as they put 3 past Southampton and ‘nearly’ got a draw, but 9 minutes of extra time has given the ex-prem team chance to grab a winner
