Confirmed Will Keane joins Reading on loan till the end of the season

Arguably Lowe’s best value for money signing. Don’t think anyone expected him to have the impact he did in that first season

Yeah, he never recovered after that injury but even under Hecky he scored a couple of important goals. Best of luck to him

Now please sign somebody

In his first spell, he was much worse than I thought he would be. In his second spell, much better. At least for that first season anyway.

Hope he does well, still some miles in the tank for him

Good luck to him, first year he was very successful, but sadly injuries and form has become a problem. Hopefully we will now see some incoming players arriving.

I'm a big fan of Will Keane - as others have commented he seems a thoughtful, pleasant and intelligent bloke who plays the game with a smile on his face. He appears to have values and attributes that make him very likeable and he's a half decent finisher, as shown with the Norwich goal! For me the right move, he goes with nothing but my best wishes, hope he can stay fit, get plenty of time on the pitch and most importantly of all score some goals to get him a decent deal for the next year or 2. He's only 33.

Not wanting to be too greedy, but I have just checked the fixtures and if you could see your way to scoring a goal against the lashers on the last day of the season and relegating them, that would be just dandy. Cheers Will and all the very best.

Well done Peter. Glad we had that asset tied down with 12months still left to run anyway...

Absolutely nothing against Will, seems like a good honest pro and contributed far more than expected at first, so goes with my best wishes. Fired us to the top of the Championship so, sincerely, thanks for the memories!

Considering we picked Keane up for free as a permanent acquisition then given how he performed in his first season he was a superb signing. Since then injuries have blunted his effectiveness and we only saw in flashes what he can provide which is neither pace nor disruptive presence but simply the striker's knack of being in the right place at the right time and if he stays fit he will get quite a few at Div 1 level between now and the end of the season. We have also now you would guess have seen him in PNE shirt for the last time so thanks Will for some useful goals and good moments.

He wasn't free.

Perhaps you're getting confused with Jack Whatmough, as he took up the option to break his contract with Wigan over non-payment of wages and being in financial difficulties.

That's three out now. I can't see Heckingbottom sanctioning them unless he had people coming in.

What's worrying, there's no rumours or actual bodies through the door. I thought we might have had some before the weekend.

As others have said was good the first season but unfortunately the injuries have done for him at this level. Probably best for all concerned that he starts afresh at a new club in the league below us but he goes with my thanks and best wishes.

Fair play to the man for turning his reputation around, there was an understandable disgruntlement about him returning after that first loan spell.

Left us with some good memories, scoring against Stoke to put us top of the league, finishing a rout against Burnley in the FA Cup and that late equaliser against Norwich.

Best of luck to him, right move for us all.
