It’s the annual guessing game.. extra tricky this year.

How much will the club spend on transfer fees during this window?

Nb. This is gross spend - so don’t deduct anything for outgoing player sales. Just the total spend on new players.

As usual, the first prize is a night out with @Ando60. Second prize is 2 nights out with @Ando60. Loser gets a night out with me.

Good luck.

(1) Under a Hemmings Regime - £1-2m including outgoing sales.

(2) Under a Zedan Regime - £8-9m plus whatever we recoup from outgoing sales.

Given that we are expecting it to be Option 2 very soon, then I'll go with that figure as Mr Zedan spent similar on a horse recently so he isn't afraid to spend.

£6-7M. Just guesswork as said previously, I think we may have already exercised the option on Devine with the intent of cashing in by resale if the takeover falls through to fund the extra spend on the pitch. Seems most likely scenario to me. I can’t see much else being made available for squad upgrades if that’s the case. Hope I’m wrong.

Looking at our current squad is it is now without loans, we're going to need more than £10-15million to make the play offs this year;

Theo Carroll, Lewis Gibson, Andrew Hughes, Daniel Iversen, Kaedyn Kamara, Callum Lang, Liam Lindsay, Ali McCann, Andrew Moran, Kitt Nelson, Cathal O'Sullivan, Odel Offiah, Milutin Osmajic, Kacper Pasiek, Brad Potts, Thierry Small, Michael Smith, Jordan Storey, Li-Bau Stowell, Jordan Thompson, Pol Valentin, Andrija Vukcevic, Ben Whiteman, Max Wilson.

£9,502,318.

At least one fee will not be in £ and therefore I have calculated this value. I had to time the transfers and forecast the exchange rates. I may be £21 out if the pound strengthens more than forecast on the 22nd July.

I've gone £5M to £6M as I think they will get the Devine deal done (that's an absolute no brainer whoever owns the club). Any more will depend on outgoings and who does actually own the club by the end of the summer. It's just a feeling, but there seems to be a sense of optimism about the club at last. Better times ahead hopefully.
