Matchday Thread PNE v Bristol City | 01.09.26 | KO:19:45 | Championship

Unfortunately there is no-one who we could bring in right now if PH was to leave.
It's a bad start but not the end of the season. I'd give him a couple more games with these new lads to see if things change.

Why? He keeps picking Lindsay over Offiah, which is unjustifiable. And every game fails to address opposition tactic changes, which proves he is tactically inept. That's been happening for years, covered up by lucky results and us hanging on for dear life so many times.

Manager needs to take Lindsay out of the firing line. He's clearly not up to it, but that's not his fault.
I hate to read the vitriolic hate for him. Clearly a decent bloke who does his best. But we so obviously need an upgrade.

He looked completely broken as he gave away the third. Like he knew it was the final straw... not just for this match.

Come on, there's always someone.

They don't have to be working in English football. Look to the Dutch, French, German, Belgian, Scandinavian leagues.

Be nice if they identified a quality manager who’s employed for once, rather than some out of work scruff/snake oil salesman.

Moot point though, they won’t even pay the compo to sack the current incompetent.

You might as well say give Liam Lindsay a couple more games writing on the wall the club have been bold to splash the cash but they need to be sensible and get rid asap no point whatsoever in keeping him

I remember when we got relegated from the top division 1960-61 the press called us PP stands for powder puff (peston) but I’m sure we had more points after 4 games, Tony Singleton where are you now in our hour of need ?

Bristol will be nearer the bottom than the top. They were awful.

And yet we have been spanked at home again.

It’s already done. Some teams that lose their first 4 recover because they have huge resources and squads.

We have Liam Lindsay and Jordan Thompson. And who the fuck is Liam Gibbs?

Better side and lost tonight and its still 100% time for him to go. For PH to continue selecting Liam Lindsay he is simply asking for the sack. Lindsay is and has been woeful for a long time yet Ph continues to stand by him. Managers live and die by decisions and this is beyond laughable now.

From the moment we went 2-1 down the players looked shot to pieces and that too is a major worry as before that there was only one side in the game. The belief is clearly lost and the club must act before its too late.

PH is a very very poor manager as his record states, and at no other club would he still be in post

I’m going to be brutally murdered for this….

LL didn’t actually do much wrong for 80 minutes, he had Tolaj in his pocket, but he was responsible for 2 goals and nearly a third if it wasn’t for Iverson, I think at this stage, we’ve just gotta get behind him. Truthfully I do, he’s a human being and booing our own player won’t help his confidence.

I also believe we should and could have won tonight. We should have been 3-1 up and out of sight by 75 mins anyway. In a different game we come away with 3 points.

Not on tonight’s showing - but I’m still Hecky out (although I think it’ll be mutual after the horrific transfer window)
