Increased loan with Hemmings still further yesterday - £9.4m now!

I think we are going to go down before the season starts, this turns to surprise when we start doing well and finally turns to disappointment when we don't get promoted. I'm just mixed up - can't make my mind up if I'm an optimist or a pessimist😕

So, in relation to your signature you just see women as normal human being then 😉

Jake, you plan to come straight back down and budget accordingly. Even a super cynic like me would go along with a "party" season where we say to hell with it let'sjust enjoy it while we're here. You use the payment and parachute strategically.

Probably the best post from you by a country mile

They got the £3m because some fookwit paid them £4m for Claude Davis when they got relegated. They went straight out and bought Beattie with the money.

Where did they get the money to pay him £30k a week and a £10k a goal bonus? Well read the Sheff Utd statement, they said they sold him because they COULD NOT AFFORD his wages.

Can you see now where people are coming from?

We sold Nugent for 6 million, it didnt mean we could go out and but a striker for 5m and pay him 50k a week.

they used the lions share of the parachuite payments to pay for beattie in the hope his goals could fire them to back into the prem.

he bagged near 20 last seaosn, and was scoring when he was playing this. If they'd had decent management and not Robson and Blackwell they'd be romping this league.

Every one of the ex-prem teams that are struggling or have struggled are down to bad management at either boardroom or coaching level. At to the earlier list, Leeds (where do you start), forest under Kinnear and megson, Leicester under a number of managers. Like I said re charlton. they were the model until they suddenly decided letting Dowie spunk an unprecedented amount of cash on average players was a good idea.

Lets not act like getting a guaranteed 50m is a bad thing.

Well we actually got £4.5m for Nugent, Bury and his agent got the rest. But putting that aside, you are are right we could not go out and buy a striker for 5m and pay him 50k a week. Neither could Sheff Utd - which is why they had to take him back to the shop and get a refund! And that is the nub of the matter.

No they didn't. They used the £4m that some fookwit paid them for Claude Davis. Had the fookwit not given them £4m for their reserve central defender, they would not have had the cashflow to do it. Don't forget, they had to finance a Prem wagebill with the parachute payments - you can't spend the parachute payments several times over you know.

Lets not act like getting a guaranteed 50m is a bad thing.

I don't think a guaranteed £50m is a bad thing at all. It is a very good thing. I think Deepdale Roar was making a different and much more subtle and astute point than you give him credit for. Tell you what, have a read of it again.

So how much did Sheff Utd receive after agents and palyer payments etc, I assume not the full transfer fee either. But thats a different argument in all honesty. We couldnt have afforded beatties transfer fee and wages for the 18 months on the back of Nugents transfer. even if we had sold him after that time. yet sheff utd could. why?

who did they sign when they went up by the way. I seem to remember Kilgallon, Christian Nade and davis. Im not sure thye inflated their wage bill enough to eat up the 10m parachute payments in all honesty.

Look at who they signed when they went down Ehiogu, Cotterill, Beattie, Sharp, Hendrie, Speed, Naysmith. That 4m they got back from Davis got streched awfully far eh! 🙄

Trevor

I know a little about Trev, cos we used to work together on the trowel.
Trev is now 73 years of age and not in the best of health.
I cant understand the reasoning to loan PNE that amount of money and for what purpose
How long is it going to take PNE to re-pay trev that amount of money?,the only answer i can think of is ,that just maybe his sons are getting involved im the club, and he may be doing it for there involvements at a later stage.,thats the only conclusion i can think of,
At his age ,i can`t see Trev worrying about investments.

Making investments is a type of gambling. I'm grateful for TH gambling his money on PNE but it is still gambling. Gambling is like a drug which once it gets hold of you is very hard to shift. So maybe investments is the same - it gives a thrill. So even at 73, TH still gets a buzz from investing in PNE. He seems to do it sensibly though, not gambling more than he can afford, so no need to join GA!😉😀

Beloved Patels? They are nothing to me, that thread was all about you halfwits not understanding what an investment was. Can't imagine them contributing a bean.

No, it was about you not understanding the difference between investing in a company and investing on the stock market: one provides capital for the business to use the other is a bet on share prices.

Fuck off Jake, you have always advocated we never borrow money we cannot cover from our gates.

.

another invention from you, that is not a n argument jake has put. He, and others, have argued against borrowing money to fund a gamble on promotion

I just don't think he knows very much about football to be honest. 😱 Otherwise the cash for those two/three extra signings to take us to the Premiership would be forthcoming.

. 😱

Perhaps he knows more than you do if you think a couple of mid season signings would guarantee promotion

But it's ok to borrow millions to stay where we are?

I repeat, throwing money at staying where we are is a far bigger folly than throwing money at a promotion attempt.

And still you don't understand you thick twat! 🙄

How embarrassing. 😱

You however, are indeed a founder member of the sycophantic "ream team" who worship Derek and have in the past belittled the efforts of Gray and Hemmings, do I assume you've changed your tune yet again? 😕

would you care to cite the posts where jake has belittled the contribution of Gray or Hemmmings/

Hmmmmm.🙁

Why do companies issue new shares from time to time?

Answer: To raise capital!!!

However in the current climate, no-body would invest in North End, especically when our Chairman/General Manager talk us down all the time!

Thank god for Hemmings, because without him we would be in the brown stuff!

but at the end of the day its uncle trevors money to throw whenever and however he wishes.

Absolutely, is anybody saying different?

Well done Derek!

The trouble is, it looks like the team have put their feet up now that safety has been reached if Saturdays performance is anything to go by. Three points against a poor team would have consolidated our place in the play offs, there isn't a cat in hells chance of making the play offs playing like they did Saturday. 😡
