, why the fuck is this cash strapped club paying £67,000 pa rent on the place?

because renting - and freeing capital - is often better for a business than buying

you seem to have difficulty grasping that very basic business concept

Rent: £67,000 : all set against tax
Capital or loan finance of £500k available for use in the business

Buy on 7% mortgage 10 year of £500k
interest = £35,000 set against tax
capital repayment = £50,000
£500k of loan finance not available to use in the business

ie in the early years: total cash flow is higher to buy than rent
and more capital remains in the business to finance normal operations

Now I know nothing about these things, but since you seem to be a accountant, if the FOP "gave" the shop and offices to the club, would it be classed as a gift so can be delcared for tax, or is it only if that is for charity?

What I dont understand about the whole Legends thing is why did nobody have the foresight to just say "we'll build offices into the invincibles". .

Had in not been for the innovative financing of the new stand there would be no new stand even on the horizon

But it's ok to borrow millions to stay where we are?

I repeat, throwing money at staying where we are is a far bigger folly than throwing money at a promotion attempt.

you really are one dumb **** aren't you, you have no understanding of how football works whatsoever, I really wonder why you insist on making yourself look so foolish and continueing to post on this board. If ignorance was bliss you would be the fucking sea of tranquility/

This is a sensible post, and for the record you didnt answer his question!😱

I cannot accept that.

Especially from somebody who does not even know what an investment is.

Yes credit is due to the board on this, however their constant negative PR and talking the club down is a disgrace!

Excuse me mate, you have proved without reasonable doubt that you are 15/32 off being a halfwit.

Try as you might with your rimming of Degsy, I fear you are too thick for the ream team.

not only that, but some of the communication is ridiculous. The ST prize freeze statement for instance, is ludicrous. 2 sentences long and pretty ambiguous.

well done derek 😛

Hmmmmm.🙁

Why do companies issue new shares from time to time?

Answer: To raise capital!!!

I know what you are saying, split it into 3 events

a) Investing directly into a company (loans/'freebies')

b) Investing into a company 'new' share issue

c) Investing in a companies shares from a previous issue that are on the market(not the unallocated issues)

a) and b) both provide new capital to the company in question, c) is investing in the share price/business performance but doesn't give any actual physical capital to the company

Or at least that was what I understood to to be the point that was being made.

I am not hawking back through your posts, you know as well as I do. 🙄

You were furious when we were praising Bryan Gray for putting us where we are.

See, yet again you can't understand it can you. Time and again you show you can't process simple logic. The 'fury'🙄 was actually questioning why some people only felt the need to praise Gray and couldn't understood why others felt Shaw deserved credit for his part in the clubs fortunes both during Grays tenure and more so, since his departure.

In laymans terms, no one discredited Gray (though I'm sure you'll pull up the single poster who quotes some random crap about Grays handling of Baxi that for some reason they feel a need to trot out from time to time), the praise for Gray was pretty much united for what he acheived for us, the question was how Shaw can be completely denied any credit for his involvement in the last 15 years or so acheivements.

Edit: but I can't actually be arsed discussing it anymore. It's pointless as has been proved, you won't actually pay any attention to what is posted, just what you want to read or think you have read. As said elsewhere this constant need to go over the same shit again and again is ruining this place.
