How would you price STs this season?

Cup tickets should ALWAYS be separate from season tickets. Why pay for matches that you don't even know will exist? You might not even get a home match.

Plus you don't know what sort of team the manager is going to put out. If I was Bastards fan and I'd paid for a ticket last night and the manager had sent an entire reserve team out to get beat I'd be fucking furious.

Man Utd simply make their ST holders pay for their seat on any home cup game I think. Utter ***** trick to be honest.

Under 8s - Free
9 to 16yrs - £99
16-64yrs - £199
OAP - £175

Huddersfield sold 16,000 season tickets last season by dropping their prices from about £300 to £100.

If we did the above I reckon we could sell somewhere between 12-14,000 if the club advertised it properly.

Whats the current revenue we get from ST sales, does it stand up against that selling 14k at those prices.

This.

Does anyone know ST sales for last season broken down by pre and post discount??

Wheres ko balls when you need him, he pretends hes ITK.

makes more sense.

Does that not mean increased ST sales would benefit us if we included cup games in the Ticket.

.

Say, 8000 season tickets at £250 average

23 league 1 cup game

250/24 = £10.41 per game

Notaional St receipts for cup game = 10.41*8000 = £83,000

ie before that gate open PNE owe:

10% = £8,300 to the FA

45% = £37,000 to the visiting club

total = £45,000 approx paid out by PNE

Set that against,

Lower league oppo:
4000 season ticket holders buy day tickets * £10 average = £40,000 *45% retained = £18,000 lost income

Premiership oppo:
8000 season ticket holders buy day tickets * £15 average = £120,000*45% retained = £55,000 lost income

So, the cost to PNE of providing free enrty for season ticket holdrs to a 3rd round cup game is somewhere between:

Lower league team: £63,000
Top prem team: £100,000

ie the offer of 1 free cup game would need to attract around 300 extra season ticket holders to be worht while

PS:

IIRC Manu do not include the entry to the cup games but make cup ticket purchase compulsory if you have a season ticket! - they just charge it to your account!

I asked something similar last night, how many do we actually sell after the discount period is up is an interesting one. Bar the rich who probably don't care about the loose change....would we actually benefit having reduced prices for the duration? Penalises the matchday ticket buyer but just wonder what difference it would make overall to sales.

Not true.

it was their centenary year and as part of the celebrations they made a big publicity pus to exiles, past fans and local residents. as part of that they cut price season tickets (£100 = Centenary price!!!) for a limited period.

full price on their website is £295 to £395

It would shift the bulk of ST income for March to August

Just because they tied it into their centenary year doesn't mean it was a price cut.

North End should do something like £199 an adult and run it for 2 months, say April and May (would be even more successful if we were in the playoffs at that time) and then by June the prices would revert back to standard.

Plenty of exiles, part timers, etc would take a punt at that price. They won't at £345.

but is was the centenary not just the price cut that pushed up sales

Bollocks.

I remember in our centenary year we were lucky if we got 5,000 in the ground. Then again they got the bloody year wrong - it should have been the year before.

WELL DONE ALAN 🙄

Have you seen the marketing push that Huddersfield put behind their centenary celebrations?

there are bits still on their web site:

http://www.htafc.com/page/DiaryOfEvents/0,,10312,00.html

I think what they are saying is good marketing is good marketing regardless of the reasons.

you were earlier seeming to suggest more fans were buying STs purely because it was a centenary season. Its becasue the club pushed it because of a centenary season, theres a difference.

My Season Ticket Pricing 2009/10

More fans inside the ground = more money spent on merchandising and food etc. My prices for Juniors and young adults are more expensive, adults and seniors are cheaper.

Under 8's = Free
Juniors 8-16 = £115 (£5 a game)
Young Adult 17-20 = £184 (£8 a game)
Adult 21-64 = £218.50 (£9.50 a game)
Seniors 65+ = £149.50 (£6.50 a game)

PNE's Season Ticket Pricing 2009/10 (TE & BSK)

Under 8's = Free
Juniors 8-16 = £69 (£3 a game)
Young Adult 17-20 = £150 (£6.52 a game)
Adult 21-64 = £345 (£15 a game)
Seniors 65+ = £230(£10 a game)

Curious to see that you reduce the price of your season ticket (adult) and yet increase the price of a young adult ticket. PNE's £150.00 young adult ticket to me actually seems reasonable given the other "better" things a young adult could spend money on what with being at an age of limited responsibility😉.

I have a problem with the adult season ticket where 21 year olds are concerned though as highlighted in another thread, but I can see arguments for it and against it. I will still be a student when I reach 21 and as a result would be priced out of a season ticket should I wish to buy one. There is no way I would be able to afford one, so if I was to continue going on I would have to pick and choose which games I attend.

Different people have different circumstances, I know 21 year olds who would be able to buy a £345.00 season ticket with no problem and 21 year olds who wouldn't be able to buy a keyring from the club shop.

It lies with PNE at the end of the day though, personally and it is just an opinion I am annoyed that PNE do not have some sort of student and/or young adult ticket structure that accomodates people up to the age of 21 as this is normally when students have finished their degrees etc (please don't make this into an anti student thread), students should then be in jobs and able to afford season tickets and at 22 if you are in work you should be at the stage of maturity where you can manage what finance you have better. Again, just an opinion.
