Trade your ferrari in for a nissan micra or stop crashing/speeding.

If you learn to write in sentences your employer might pay you more.

No doubt there will be a lot of " Well back in my day "😉

You are correct with that statement. But the job situation these days is far easier than it was when I left school. It sticks in my mind that the day I left school back in 1977 there was one job in the Coventry Evening Telegraph. I don't mean one job I could do, I literally mean ONE JOB advert! The 1970s were a terrible time for young job seekers. A main street in Coventry had all it's factories roofless and shut down. Roofless because the owners could not afford demolition and it meant rates did not have to be paid on the buildings. A most depressing and scary sight for someone entering the job market. Preston had it a little easier because British Aerospace kept the place afloat, but it was still hard going here too. I eventually got a good job in the retail trade as a trainee manager (with later promotions to relief manager then manager) having been up against well over 300 other applicants. And that situation with the number of applicants was far from uncommon! It just meant you had to be more determined and, yes, grown up in your attitude. Hence my attitude to those that moan about having to be an adult and having to pay adult prices at 21. It makes me despair for the younger generation of today (those that bemoan their luck anyway - I have already spoken to a younger forum member who also sounded disgusted that a 21 year old should be treated like a child for discount purposes).

I have only been driving two years and have never crashed and dont speed (i have a honda crx de sol not a ferrari, if i had a ferrari wouldnt i sell it so i would be better off?)
I am not here to argue with you, i just want to get a point across that some young people dont have it as easy as you some people think
if you want to have a dig at me by saying things like "If you learn to write in sentences your employer might pay you more" then do it but at the end of the day we are all here for the same reason which is to follow the pride of lancashire preston north end. Shouldnt we be sticking together instead of arguing with each other????
And for the record i work 8am till 6pm monday to friday and earn every penny of it and give most of it to my dad who is currently at university doing a degree have you not heard of "dont judge a book by is cover" you have never met me or seen me so who are some of you to judge me.

Sob story alert.

Why should you get it cheap at 22? Give me a valid reason (and not 'I'm skint') and I will think about it before telling you you're talking bollocks.

Like I said, in my day we went out Thursday, Friday, all day Saturday and all day Sunday, still went on the games and never once complained about it being expensive.

I stand by my point, the youth of today are fucked.

i dont expect to get on cheap i never said once i did want to.i am going to get a season ticket next season for the record
i am not telling a sob story its life, lifes a struggle and you get on with it and always pull through like every other working class person.
i just dont like the fact i get judged for being young with comments like when i drive "i speed" "crash my car" when i dont

And every credit to you mate for what you just said "in my day we went out Thursday, Friday, all day Saturday and all day Sunday, still went on the games and never once complained about it being expensive"

I feel for you.

Having to work 5 days a week

Having to pay your dad to live in his house

Having to pay insurance

Having to pay full price for your season ticket

I also had hard times when I was younger, but instead of moaning about how unfair it was, I got off my arse and got a job, worked hard, made money the hard way, and paid full price for my football tickets, beer, chips and cars.

Mollycoddling parents should be ashamed - making their kids into society's victims.

These days, I sit next to my swimming pool drinking Chateau d'Chasserlait and smoking Havana cigars - thinking who'd have thought it

The youth of today don't know they are bloody born, when I was a lad we were so poor we lived in house with no door........................😎

You lucky sod. I lived behind a door with no house when I was growing up. Think yourself lucky! You don't know you're bloody born!
