Hearing all the scores being announced at full time, and every result going our way (again), it seemed to create a buzz on the Town End. We aren't playing brilliant at the moment, but we are still picking up results and are 4th in the league on merit. Teams don't like playing at Deepdale. We have a decent team in an average league. If we can maintain our home form, and start getting more points away from home, anything is possible.
Was yesterday the day when promotion became a realistic possibility?

What are people doing now, looking above us or below us?
Personally I'm sort of OK with the Sheff U v Brum current scoreline, even though it leaves SU just 1 point behind us. I'm not even thinking about that, and just looking up and thinking we're still 5 points off the automatic places.
It does, however, leave more pressure on us to keep up the numbers if the play-off spots are more tightly contested. All about perspective I suppose.
From the rumblings I'm hearing, we might be getting one or two on loan, hopefully in the next couple of weeks before it's too late for them to really have an effect. If this happens, we've got as good a chance as any of them.

A draw's still good for us. Blow the whistle!

That'll change game by game, depending on results. Last week we were apparantly hurtling towards midtable. This week we're apparantly going up automatically...
I still reckon we will end up around 9th or 10th.
Our squads too paperthin.

I still think after last season anything in the top 10 is a good achievement. However, this time last season, the team that were in 4th place were West Brom and look where they finished!!!
Look at what Hull did. They put a good run together from easter onwards. Im not getting carried away with our current position and hope we finish in the top 6 but top 10 finish will make me happy.
considering where we are in the league promotion is not on my mind, like it was the last 2 times we were in this position.
WHY
because were just not playing well enough, away were shocking and even the last few home games we have been , i know we've won the ones at home and all that but how is beyond me.
but were there so see what happens normally by now I'm normally buzzing but just not feeling it and judging by deepdale yesterday most people feel the same.
top 10 i think it'll be which is great all things considering and hopefully as we've said many times before we can do it next season

I still find myself looking below us. Yesterday was a big win, especially with the majority of the teams around us dropping points, but I would rather us concentrate on cementing a play-off place than pinning all our hopes on going up automatically.

We are still very much under the radar, nobody thinks we are automatic promotion candidates, most think we'll be squeezed out of the play offs. This is fine by me. Let them concentrate on the 'silky skills' of Swansea, the 'strength in depth' of Cardiff, Bristol Cities 'battling qualities' or Sheff Utd's 'expierence'. We should be mentioned along with these other clubs but everyone thinks we are bottle merchants who'll finish the season with a whimper, fizzle out to finish somewhere between Doncaster and Crystal Palace. F*ck 'em all. We should keep the faith and remember that we are fourth on merit and haven't started to play anything like good football yet. If we do hit a purple patch in the last ten games then we can win this shitty league. Just my thoughts like.

Hell I feel motivated after reading that 😛

I think you've got it bang on there, let us continue to be under the radar whilst the media concentrates on the other teams around us. You got me thinking, if we managed to have a bit more steel about us away from home, and win a few... we have a chance of going up or even winning the league.

Ask the thread question again at 5pm next Saturday. Then our run-in will have 5 home games and 4 away games. This will give a better insight into such a question. Pick points up from Forest and Palace then, if results elsewhere are still going our way, things could be looking quite rosy.
Whoever fucks up the least will get automatic, those who fuck up a bit more will get a play off spot.🙂
As we tend to be very good at fucking things up I'm not very positive.🙁

True - we even had to resort to playing Whaley yesterday😛I still reckon we will end up around 9th or 10th.

Definitely looking below us. I think a Sheff Utd win today was the worst possible result.
Well I think it was the best possible result, that is for PNE to continue their long shot hopes of automatic promotion.
The Blades have five away games that they may not even get a point from or hopefully not many: QPR, Cardiff, Reading, Burnley and Palace.
The defeat of Birmingham keeps PNE within spitting distance of the Blues, and although we do have to travel to Birmingham, (and I know we have not won many on the road this season), it is an opportunity at least for us to dent Birmingham's hopes ourselves.
Automatic is probably not going to happen, but with the top teams seemingly becoming real opportunities for wins for the lower clubs, who knows what could happen between now and the end of the season?
