I don't disagree with what you say but I'm still getting naffed off with the word "loyal" or "servant" being bandied about whenever we talk about lonergan or mckenna. Thats not the point - are they good enough? and would someone like nicholsons contribution be valued any the less because he's scottish?
its fair enough having a soft spot for local players but being local doesn't make an average player into a good one.

hes been class all season IMO. My player of the season. palyed at a consistent level the majority of the season, and has been alone for large chunks of it because Carter and nicholson have been anonymous in the middle for the most part.


I still refuse to call him loyal though. As far as im aware, theres never been a concrete bid for him, let alone one hes actually turned down to stay. That would be loyal, not staying in one highly paid job all your life doing something many people class as a hobby for a living all your life because no one else wants to pay the asking price for you.

Any midfielder is key, as is the keeper, the defenders and strikers. We've seen some shit performances in midfield, it seems the widely held opinion now that if McKenna has a good player alongside him to help him along he plays well, if not he doesn't. I personally haven't criticised McKenna much at all, apart from his habit of hoiking the ball forwards to nobody without looking up.

People certainly do make a name for themselves on this forum, as absolutely clueless, blind faith idiots, and you're one of them.

Eeerm, where is all my criticism of McKenna like? 😕

The only criticism he's had from me this season is hoofing the ball forward without looking up, and I only brought that up after Sunday, where he worked extremely hard but his passing was occasionally piss poor.

Try watching the game occasionally, and think before you post Dumbo. 🙄

i have slated mckenna most of the season, but i hold my hands up and admit over the last month / six weeks he has been class!

this is mostly because williamson was introduced imo. and seeing him with carter who likes to attack balances the midfield out. carter to drive the team forward (like he did sunday) and mckenna to tidy up and start attacks is perfect for us. lets hope carter and mckenna can deliver together friday night again.

come on the whites! 🙂

McKenna has had his ups and downs, but to discount the opinions of FIVE professional managers who have played McKenna consistently shows it's YOU who knows nowt about football - and probably never will.
 
Is it a full-time job to keep slating the players? Because some of you need to take a fecking Holiday so the rest of us can enjoy the Playoffs.

I'm referring to the idea that McKenna is "Premiership quality". Better recently yes, but "Premiership quality" my arse.

The blind faith mentallity is beyond reason, people were serious about Lonergan playing for England a few weeks ago, let alone McKenna being "easily premiership quality". 🙄

Wrong on most counts. I may not be married, but neither do I want to be. Apart from that I live a very busy and fulfilled life thanks.

And I don't look like Bilbo fucking Baggins's uglier brother.
