Self inflicted Irvine. By all accounts Trotman ahd earned a place in defence but he wasn't even on the bench. In fact to put that clown Chilvers ahead of Trotman is a joke. Is this how Irvine motivates his players ?
Another point why didn't he have Barton, Collins and Mayor on the bench v Morecambe. It would have given those lads a glimmer of hope. Instead we have this dour Scottish manager all but finishing off the promising trio we've produced. I hope Norwich come back in for him and make him an offer he can't refuse.

same problem we have had for 2 years, simple ansa kill teams off and that is what vai should have been telling them that at half time , we sit back too much

Lonergan just reitterated the point on the radio.Anyone know who "hasn't done their job" despite constant reminders all week about Doncaster's style of play? Sounds like it's cost us with a scrappy shite goal.
He said they have worked on defending quickly taken set pieces all week and they focussed on it this morning, in addition to having the point emphasised before last seasons match and yet they still fell for it!

Raefil the same was said about Thompson, Thomson, Holden, Bruce, Morley, Doyle, Houston, Kelly Jnr, Baxter, Lawrenson and many others. Guess what happened when they were thrown in ?
Irvine has a serious problem in his psyche about not giving youth it's chance. You would think we had a squad of Real Madrid internationals blocking their progress but instead we have the likes of Sedgwick, Nicholson, Chilvers and now Parry who hasn't exactly hit the ground running despite all his experience you were all yelling out about.

Cue-ball head Chappers was half a sleep...I'd make him walk home, that way he'd be awake next time.
He's been half asleep since he signed for us. On the match thread, Carter was getting hammered because he was coming on as a sub, yet the utterly useless Chaplow once again falters, apparently though, he had a couple of good games 18 months ago. How long can this waster continue to benefit from those early games.

Yeah I heard it. Fair dues to AI really, when I mention stuff to my under 14s team and they simply forget it it drives me fucking mental. If my job depended on it? Fucking hell, I'd want to swing for whoever it was today. He has clearly done all the preparation he can and the player has just let everyone down.

Irvine should be seriously pised off with himself.😡
Poor team selection.
1 poor substitution followed by an inept substitution.
Pretty awful performance against probably one of the worst teams we will play.
At least Irvine tried to mix it up by playing 4-3-3 and it's a point and a start away from home.
Seemingly everyone else is drawing in the championship (no team has won their opening two games apart from Coventry who always start the season on fire and tail off) so still early days and a very open league.

sedgwick was probably the best midfielder out there today, parry had a good game too so team selection wasnt reallt the problem, its more the performance of players who should know better, chaplow was poor in the tackle and gave the ball away 9 times out of ten, wallace was quiet again and mawenne's distribution is shocking and when he gets turned i immediately feel hes about to give a penalty away, so these three in my book are playing based on reputation and past performances not current performances.
I thought chilvers looked steady when he came on and carter had a couple of nice touches but in the main was always 5 yards away from the action, so on a whole not good but not disasterous, we obviously are still in desperate need for another centre mid player

Sedgwick had one of his most ineffective games ever. Does he ever pass to Jones?
Chaplow had a good game up until Nicholson was moved to the left.
Parry was ok but got caught offside too much 1st half.
SSL had a good game
Mawene looks out of sorts.
For me team selection was a big issue.
We created loads of chances against Bristol, Parry was extremely dangerous on the right. So what do we do?
Change 2 of the midfield and drop both strikers.
Choose a central midfiled which has never played together before.
Play a guy up front who has never played for us there before.
IMO wrong.
Bringing on Parkin to play with Brown was a bad decision and moving Nicholson to the left when Carter came on was ridiculous.

Did you really say Sedgewick was the best midfielder - well tbh if you are happy with that youre easily pleased - he lost the ball constantly first half and should have buried our only second half chance- useless waste of space that he is.
Whyy was Parry sacrificed for him ? Irvine should hang his head in shame.

How? By scoring against Morecambe?

I was told he did more in his few minutes than Chilvers did in the entire game. Wasn't it Chilvers who screwed up for their goal ?

Am I the only one who thought we actually played really well in the first half? Some lovely patient build up play and great passing football, the goal a prime example.
Second half after losing Mawene and Wallace we fell to pieces and got kicked out of the match. Carter shouldn't have come on for Parry in that situation, he isn't someone you can tell to scrap for the ball and defend!
