More than 8,500 people in Preston last night, and not one representative of the club present.
Last night was a great opportunity to advertise a) the Newcastle game, b) the BOGOF deal and c) the Half-Season tickets.
It's completely unbelievable, yet again. If the BOGOF deal doesn't attract many fans, its quite simple to know why, because the club has little/no advertising in the city centre. Same with the Newcastle game which should attract at LEAST 17,000 people, but same again - no advertising through the city/university/colleges/schools. I know I'll hear the same "oh well they go into every school in Preston, and we have the biggest sq ft of a business in Preston" but that's not the point, get into people's faces and do something about it PNE - even if you ask us fans to volunteer an hour of our Saturday to do it like last night, all you have to do is ask certain Supporters Groups and organisations such as NEST, PSG etc.

I've known some footballes who make visits to schools, but Longidge High have had two no-shows over the last month. Neil Mellor was supposed to be doing a talk on racism the day before the QPR game, but he went down on the coach on the same day, and MAwene was supposed to be in on Thursday for a French talk to my class, but he didn't show. 🙁

I thought Mawene was there but turned out to be Jimmy Afro :youl:
I don't blame PNE for boycotting Preston council's switch on. The dribbling fawning sycophants couldnt wait to invite Wovers to do the biz when we were under the fantastic ginger gollum.
Preston Council Preston Bus and The LEP can all go to hell for me and everyone at TuTu Towers.

Just a question for all who went last night, were North End represented at all last night? By players, people giving out leaflets advertising the BOGOF deal, etc?
Or is it another missed opportunity for the club?
I have no idea if they were present, but on the councils official adverts it stated that players from PNEFC WOULD be present.
I agree Bayside, this is the kind of event leaflets etc should of been dished out, I'm sure supporters would of volunteered to do it too.
Preston council have always been shit with North End, so fuck em. well done PNEFC 🙂

That's what I thought.
I've nothing else to say on the matter.

But as what someone has said elsewhere, "PNEFC are now the market leaders in the missed opportunity market".
8000+ people in Preston the other night, most of which were young families. THIS IS THE MARKET PRESTON NORTH END SHOULD BE TARGETING.
I cannot believe that PNE were not present, despite saying they would be. It was another prime example of a missed opportunity, we are in debt up to our eyeballs and the club (from a fans point of view) are like sitting ducks. People aren't coming onto Deepdale for reasons x, y and z , why don't PNE do something to get Mr X, Mrs Y and Mr and Mrs Z back on? Oh they are doing, the BOGOF deal! But how do these people know, errrm..... they dont! Now this is probably down to PNE's apparent poor relationship with the LEP, and now Radio Lancs and also because they have advertised it very poorly within Preston and the surrounding districts. Living near Lostock Hall I get a pack with leaflets in it once a month (got one today actually) and in all my years here I've not seen ONE leaflet about PNE. It can't cost a lot, mainly because we've got all sorts of businesses advertising in this book of tricks. How hard would it be to target South Ribble audiences? Erm, not very.
Missed opportunities left, right and bleeding centre. Lack of ambition and attendances in decline. And people wonder why we're losing fans?
🙁
