Its walking down Deepdale Rd in the old Town End days. You would go on and the Trumpet player would be playing this tune and when he did the hairs on the back of your neck stood up! I love that guy and his trumpet playing. When he finished we all clapped on cue and sang "the North End". Loved it. Pie Muncher to read over a pint in the ledgens then 90 mins on the old Town End with the trumpet player playing, the drummers drumming away, Andy Saville wheeing away towards us after scoring. Loved it i would do anything to have that atmosphere back.

Happy days

I miss a 23 year old Alex Dawson.

And a similarly-aged Archie Gemmill . Ditto Alex Bruce. FFS come back Ricardo Fuller.

yeah its what were missing we need a spark up front somebody to get us on the edge of our seat. Our team is no worse or better than a lot of our teams recently we are just missing that little bit of magic up front. If we had that we would be well in the play-off postions by now

wouldnt that mean we are worse?

If we are missing something then surely we ARE WORSE ?

Oh for an Alex Bruce / Mike Elwiss type partnership up front 😀

I miss Tony Ellis (before he turned Judas), Chris Lucketti, Brian O'Neil, Sean Gregan, John Macken, Ricardo Fuller, David Nugent and standing on the Town End 🙁

What great memories Micky Elwiss scoring 3 against MAN UTD in A testimonial i think and also cracking the bar from all of 35 yards , super Bruce scoring 4 against colchester , great times .

Youve got plenty of pull why not have a word with Derek about allowing a bit of standing on the back of the town end and give free tickets to band members and get the old school fans back on the town end singing there balls off while leaving the chavs on the kop . just a thought like .

Surf, would you swap what we have today, a half empty, fully modernised Deepdale; a better standard of football for the experience(s) you highlight in this post?

+1

Proper players who would either get you off your seat and keep you entertained.

I can only agree with Fuller from your list,he really was a what feck is he going to do next player and standing on the pavilion behind the away dugout always got my vote

I started my love affair with PNE as a 3 year old sat between the blue bar and the wall behind the dugouts on the pavillion.
My dad wedged me there with my cousin whilst he stood at the back shouting the odds at any one whod listen.
If he'd had a good week at work , we got to sit in the posh seats of the pavillion stand and bang our feet as loud as we possibly could.
Ahhhh memories.......
