With this automatic notification, does it force a kind of regular refresh?
Every 60 seconds there is a noticeable 'tracer' going across the top of the page that had only been there since this feature was implemented.

Might just be me, but it's a bit annoying to be honest. Maybe I'll get used to it, but I keep thinking I've clicked something by mistake (and it catches my eye every time).

It doesn't force a refresh of the whole page, just checks for alerts and posts.

As anything else it is on trial to see if it is worth it.

Currently it is only set to check every 60 seconds and I think the tracer only appears on desktop.

If anyone else has any feedback let me know.

Like I say, it's just cause it keeps catching my attention, but it'll probably fade out over time.

Maybe I'm doing it all wrong and missing the point.... but clicking on" new posts " works ace for me. 😀

It just means that in the old version these notifications only updated if you refreshed the page or went to New posts or something. Now even if you don't move or rfefresh pages the notifications will update automatically every 60 seconds

With the money saved on mouseclicks the wear and tear on the mouse means less buying new mice so everyone can donate a touch extra for the various appeals
