We are now well into the second half of the 2025/26 campaign and North End want your help in deciding when and where this year’s Gentry Day will be held.

Gentry Day is the Lilywhites’ annual away fixture, selected by fans to remember the ‘gentry’ we have lost connected to the club in the last 12 months.

Referring to Alan Ball Snr’s famous comment - “Preston fans are the best, they’re the gentry” - the special day has been an annual awayday event since 2005 and was last year held at Hull City on Easter Monday.

Following discussions with the club’s new Fan Advisory Network (FAN) - which includes members of PNE Supporters’ Collective (PSC) and PNE Online - a decision has been made to put a vote in supporters’ hands.

At their inaugural meeting, the North End FAN held an indicative vote on Gentry Day, and are unanimous in their recommendation to supporters of Charlton Athletic away on Saturday 11th April.

The FAN were also clear in stating that with potential moves for TV broadcast fixtures during the latter part of the season, that once a Gentry Day vote is held and a fixture selected it will remain confirmed, whenever the game is played.

Chair of the Fan Advisory Network, Dave Marsden, said:

“Gentry Day is a special day every season for supporters of Preston North End. It is 21 years since the first Gentry Day and in that time the event has grown to become something unique to North End and something that matters deeply to supporters. It’s always a great awayday where travelling fans take time to remember those close to us, and close to the club, who we have lost over the past 12 months.

“The club’s new Fan Advisory Network took a vote and unanimously recommended that supporters choose the away fixture at Charlton Athletic in April. The Valley is a great ground with a vibrant home support, transport links are excellent and London is a wonderful city to visit. But whichever game is chosen, Gentry Day will be as it always is - emotional, memorable and fun.”

The club and the FAN now propose that North End supporters choose from one of the following away fixtures and vote, with the following list including the FAN’s unanimous recommendation:

- Norwich City, Saturday 14th March, 3pm

- Leicester City, Friday 3rd April, 3pm

- Charlton Athletic, Saturday 11th April, 3pm

Click here to complete the survey. Voting will close at 5pm on Friday 23rd January, with the outcome of the vote to be communicated in due course.

It doesn’t let me vote , it just asks me to create an account ….

I want Charlton on April 11th…

I do think next season they really should look at having Gentry Day in either September, October or November if a decent fixture falls in them months.

We know fixtures in July, and all tv fixtures up until Xmas are announced not long after that.

I voted for Charlton. Reasons being although the Norwich is the day before my birthday it wouldn’t be good for many others, Leicester I would be fine with too but Charlton means my son will come with me and I will see my family.
It be great for me lol. So being selfish, I voted Norwich, Although Charlton is not to bad

I have heard we are trialling Top Hats this year as Bowlers are getting old hat.

When the super rich Yanks take over we will probably have to wear those tricorn hats that Paul Revere wore when he rode into town shouting "the British are coming".

Could be worse, if he is French it could be beret's.

What if he was a super rich German, picture the scene on Euston station with thousands of PNE fans dressed in leather kecks.
