Why would he have got a testimonial

I believe Testimonials are a thing of the past, going back to the old days when players were in more need of money at the end of their career. I also believe that it is expected that, if you do get a Testimonial, you donate a substantial amount to charity.

Anyone know which was the last PNE player to get one?
Because the club promised the fans and him one. Testimonials are for 10 years of service and in modern times. They benefit charity. Why shouldn't they have one? It rare to have players that see out 10 years yet we've had 2 in recent times. A credit to the players considering some of the managers we've had.

I’m pretty sure @RibbletonWhite2.0 was asking why you think Greg should have a testimonial when he hasn’t been here 10 years

Greg Cunningham has been a fine servant of the club - in his first spell with us outstanding though not so much in his second where diminishing pace and increasing injury-proneness meant his contribution was more episodic. He doubtless has a good couple of seasons left in him a division lower and might still make a case for himself in a squad at this level not just for his quality as a footballer but his character which is exemplary. But it is entirely the right decision that we should release him - with Hughes on-board for another season we simply don't need another senior left-sided defender. Frankly if the contract situations were reversed I would have been happy to keep Cunningham and let Hughes go. But whatever we have to free up the space and wages to bring in greater pace and agility there. Frankly we also need to do some of that on the right of the defence as well. But Greg Cunningham deserves our thanks and appreciation.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Greg has had 6 and a half year of service and not ten? Unless you’re wasnt on about Greg?

Huntington and Browne absolutely should have/had a testimonial

Ok let me correct you. I WAS on about Greg, but I said and Quote -
Great Player, would of loved him to of got a Testimonial
Meaning would of liked him to stay, I like the player, still think he got years left in him. Would of, being key here, he didn't get there, If he hadn't left, he would of been at the 9 and a half (NOTE - if he hadn't)

You may have missed the Brackets, but in them I said and Quote -
(Mind you, we never gave Hunts and won't be giving Browne one so probably wouldn't have got one).
The Brackets meaning OFF Topic a little.

I then explained and Quote -
Was gutted when he first left. Glad he came back. Hope to see him in management one day. Thanks Greg and Good luck.
This means I was sad to see him leave the first time and thanks for his service over 2 spells and wish him well and I hope he goes into management career. Thats because I like to see our former players stay in football.

I hope this clears everything up, enjoy your Sunday, I am going to sit in the Corner spinning (Vertigo, just love it NOT) and hope we get the forecast Thunder Storm as its very muggy and close down here.

‘My time at North End has come to a close and with that, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone associated with the club for their warmth and acceptance over my six-and-a-half year stint. I’ve had the pleasure of working with the amazing people both on and off the pitch during my time.

‘I’ve openly expressed my admiration for the club which I’ve called my home away from home! I will forever have the fondest memories to look back on. I’ve been extremely lucky to have experienced a changing room that has always been so close-knit, so I thank the lads for making my job a thoroughly enjoyable and challenging experience every day!

‘Finally, to the fans who have displayed a never-ending support to the team and to myself the minute I first walked through the door back in 2015 and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Thank you @pnefcofficial #UTFW’.
