Confirmed Jamal Lewis Signs - Until 30th December 2025

Wasn't this the lad who went to Brazil to play for a bit?

Was massively rated at Norwich years back at this level then went to Newcastle and got lost in all the changes they made after the takeover.

Proven option on the left side so he'll add more depth and if he looks o.k then will probably get 18 month deal extension.

Smart deal for all involved.

If we can keep him fit then it’s experienced cover for Vuc on a short term basis, plus the lad himself gets to his chance to prove himself ahead of potentially staying on/moving elsewhere in January.

My only concern is that if he does impress, others may come sniffing. Though I think players generally have more loyalty to those giving them an opportunity under circumstances such as this than they’re given credit for.

Throw back type of deal that. Only until the window opens

Injury prone, hasn’t kicked a ball in over 6 months and no preseason. Realistically, not expecting anything from this. But any minutes we can get out of him to avoid breaking Thierry and get us through to January or when Andy is back and potentially get a young loan in in the wingback role makes this a very proactive move

Or he’s class and earns a proper deal

He hasn't played a huge amount at all in recent times.

6 games for Sao Paulo last year.

Season before he did feature 30 times for Watford but they and others didn't want him permanently and he left for Brazil so not sure likes of Ipswich and Coventry will be falling over themselves to sign him up if he starts a couple in next month.

If he does well he gets 18 month deal and will be the replacement for Brady as there's no point giving him continual extensions if he's just injured for months.

Still only 27 so he shouldn't be past it at all.

I was going to ask what happened to him?
Has he suffered from injuries since his big money move?

Welcome to PNE, Does this mean that he has replaced someone else for our 25 man squad roster etc. or did we have a spare place to sign him.

Was training with QPR, not sure exactly how long for but it was reported three days ago, so at least he's not coming in completely cold.

Minutes off the bench over the next week then an International break for him to hopefully build up a bit more fitness.

Fair play to the club for swiftly bringing in a player in response to the injuries that are racking up!

Whether he will be any good is anyone's guess. Fingers crossed he can fill Vuks boots!
