"The money has gone" says Heckingbottom, but fans are confident money will be found if we're really in the shit come January.
So let's hope that happens, yeah?
...is this right...?
... maybe now Ms Revitt and the IOM may be a bit more generous seeing as we will be worth less as a L1 club.
just a few astute and sensible signings.
Trevor used to find a few quid down the back of the settee when we were in the shit(apart from Fergie Junior season). That was then and maybe now Ms Revitt and the IOM may be a bit more generous seeing as we will be worth less as a L1 club.
Please, please, no more lazy contract extensions and not asking for mega money to be spent, just a few astute and sensible signings.
Fingers crossed PH is working on this and can can hopefully pull a few rabbits out of the hat in January.
Wishful thinking, I fear. 🙁
But it might not be a bad thing in the long run. If Sleepy Pete has to go cap-in-hand in January, even Revitt might start to pay a bit of attention.
She'd be within her rights to ask where/how the previous money was spent.
Ridsdale won't want that, so get ready for a Christmas sermon along the lines of 'we need to sell before we can buy', one in-one out, Bowler going back, Bauer paid off, a couple of cheap loans, Bosman punts and sly hints that he was right all along about wanting to keep his mate Lowe.
He's absolutely screwed us with that Okkels deal.
Uncle Trev's not going to cover his fat arse this time and Comatose Craig is the Father Dougal to his dodgy Ted.
Strap in. 😬

And, just like last year, we've had a good cup draw to boost the FFP coffers...
Which, like last year, will have vanished and we'll be told fans wanted the stadium (non-FFP) powerwashing and that we have Keane and Evans coming back like new signings to fire us to the play-offs!
What could possibly go wrong? So essentially it looks like we'll be relying on the cheapest loans possible to keep us out of a relegation dogfight. That rarely ends well!
As the team squad stands …I’m confident we will be ok and stay in this division 👍
Overall the improvement in performances has been marked under Hecky
But longer term if we have any aspirations to challenge higher up the table and beyond , major shakeup is required 🤔
That is the PNE conundrum….always 🤨
I've got be honest, I'm really not sure I see it that way.
Sure, we have been better going forward but the results haven't been great.
We've conceded 3 goals, 6 times in his tenure so far. He's only managed 16 games. Adding to that, we've conceded 37 goals which works out at around 2.3 goals per game.
I don't particularly want to compare to Lowe, but we were conceding 1.4 a game under him. Heckingbottom currently has a worse PPG ratio than Lowey too.
This isn't a post slagging off Hecky. I am glad we got rid of Lowey and we have a different man overseeing things but if I'm being honest, I haven't seen enough in this opening spell to say performances have been massively improved and we will comfortably stay in this division.
All the underlying data, defensively, shows we've actually regressed.
Can blame the useless recruitment for that but I am concerned that useless recruitment will continue past January and we will be in shit creek without a paddle come March.
On the injury front, the LEP has come up with some potential return dates for our current set of crocks:
Liam Lindsay: Nov 23
Will Keane: Nov 23
Ched Evans: Nov 30
Patrick Bauer: Dec 21
Robbie Brady: Dec 21
Potentially at least 6 more games without Brady who, to my surprise, has actually performed well under Heckingbottom. He has been quite a big miss.On the injury front, the LEP has come up with some potential return dates for our current set of crocks:
