Mod for a week!

Seeing as theres becoming a bit of an anti-mod feeling at times on this board, maybe its an idea once every couple of months, to give someone the oppurtunity to be a mod for a week.

This would give people an oppurtunity to actually see how the mods operate, see how they come to decisions, see the amount of things they actually have to deal with and see how people react to mods.

from the mods perspective as well, it might actually give you some real, decent feedback about the process from people who would have far more of an insight then they do at the minute.

any thoughts?

I imagine they wouldnt have the full mod rights, just to stop the cunts being cunts.




Also, out of interest, how do Mods become Mods. Is there never a need for fresh blood so to speak? is it a closed shop? can Mods be ousted? or do we have to wait till one relinqueshes his post before someone else is invited? are people even invited or do the forum vote?

all pertinent questions I think.

I would hate to be a mod, it appears that the moment your username turns green you instantly turn into a soft, snivelling wretch.

We had "Mod Idol" a couple of years ago.

Horse came 1st,i came 2nd and Chats17 came 3rd.

Horse,who'd quit previously,was re-instated. Now he's gone for good.

Maybe we should have"Mod Idol" every 12 months running for 2 weeks to accumulate votes.

Might freshen things up,the current mods included in the voting process...if they're good enough,then they'll be re-instated with consummate ease.

I don't know if its just me, however I do not post that often, however log on on a daily basis to see whats going on, as such i do not notice that much moderation taking place on the site, other than when similar threads have been merged. It would appear that those who post a hell of a lot take issue with the moderators, perhaps those people with 20,000+ posts who have issues with the moderators would be best placed to be part of the moderation team, lets face it they spend that much time on here that they have the time to put the effort in.

I say leave things as they are, however as someone with less than 500 posts I don't expect my thoughts to be taken seriously !😀
