Well as another weekend decends upon us we are 1 month away from the 1st kick of the 11/12 season.
I'm not in the know as many on here and am hoping I will be pacified in your knowledge but for now the fact remains that the exit door is a lot busier than the in, the facts as I see them:-
Do we or don't we have a keeper ?
Our defence is average at best especially now ST ledger has departed
Our midfield is sadly lacking, do we really expect a lot from ashbee and carter? Will Barton be off regardless ?
Our strike force is Hume and potentially Mellor

My biggest worry is just how silent magic is, I'm neither here nor there about him but it is becoming a recurring feature of him bleating on in the media about having no money and how we should appreciate Mr Hemmings, heard it and bored with it, move on.
I am beginning to worry a little, should I ?
 
I think our midfield is quite strong to be honest.

Nicholson - Ashbee - Coutts

With Adam Barton and Darel Russell as back up.

Looks a Championship midfield to me personally if everyone keeps fit.
 
Our midfield looks one of our strongest areas. Our front two look like a quality pair for this level, but do we have enough quality as back up for them if one of them gets injured? Our defence is woeful and none existent and we don't really have a reliable keeper on our hands. Both our defensive and keeper situations need to be resolved first, with the rest resolved closer to the first game of the season providing we don't sell any other assets.
 
We drag our feet in the market we always have done , its if we start the season without signings i will worry .
 
I am a bit concerned with out options at the back.

At the moment I think our strongest team would look something like this:

Lonergan (hopefully he'll be off and Turner signs)
McLaughlin Morgan Devine Billington
Mayor Coutts Ashbee Treacy
Mellor Hume


We need two centre backs to replace Brown and St Ledger, a left back, a goalkeeper (Turner) and at least one striker assuming that Mellor stays. There's also the argument that we could do with a right winger too.

I just hope that once Lonergan leaves then that should free up enough space in wages to allow some incomings. Hopefully Brown will have some of his 'ducks' lined up.

Think we've already missed out on some good freebies already to other League One teams (some who probably have half the income!) so we better move quick before the rest get snapped up and we are left with the dregs!

I didn't realise Donaldson had signed for someone, I was hoping we'd have tabled him an offer!

some steals on that list!! think we need some incoming and lonners out asap to get things moving and get some positivity!!!
 
Phil Brown talked of four incomings would have thought that was before the departure of Lonners and St Leger so really we should be talking six which i cant see happening,this is a real kick in the teeth to the fans considering the excellent take up of season tickets, which if we dont bring in at least four i for one will feel i have been sold under false pretenses as so little ambition will have been shown.If things continue in the manner they have been going i cant see what the long term business thinking is because not for the first time Mr Hemmings seems to be showing none of the qualities of a sharp thinking business man.Sadly we seem to have gone from chucking money at poor players to throwing the baby away with the bath water.Strange days indeed ! Thank god that the use of the Deepdale site is tied to football use only.
