Going through this currently, 2 years and counting, so I have enough experience, and how to deal with certain scenarios.
Yes, it's bloody hard, which is hard for people to understand if they haven't been there themselves, and brings you depression yourself.
If you want to PM me, I will be quite happy to try and help you out bud.

Hope it sorts itself out soon Sambo85. I suffered from it myself both times after giving birth, and it wasn't a fleeting episode. As my husband said to me, after telling me he didn't want me to have anymore children, as he was afraid of the effect it would have on me, "It's hard watching someone you care about suffer, and you feel like there is nothing you can do" He said he felt powerless, is that how fellas generally feel in a situation like that?

I just thought I'd start a thread to get the subject in discussion so that people would benefit from any advice given. I don't mind being open about things if it helps others.
Basically, my story is that I had depression from a stressful job, which I then gave up, which was shortly followed by a preganancy, which was miscarried and as I was out of work I didn't handle well at all. After working my way back up to "normality" we are now expecting a little boy in the next 2 months (I've already named him Alexander!) but we've just hit the stage where Mrs Bobbage is in tears at being handed a brew and a work colleague mentioned that this was a bit of an early warning for post-natal depression.
We've just had a string of blazing rows since posting this thread, and finally it has come out that she simply doesn't feel a "bond" with the bump, and all the "excitement" about buying all the clothes and stuff has been an attempt to get excited rather than being genuine. I'm fearing the worst.

she may say she doesn't feel a bond because she is frightened of developing one? Tears are probably down to hormones and worry about having a healthy baby, Mrs Bobbage may NEVER suffer from post natal depression, I sincerely hope that she doesn't. I wish you all the best and a great future with your little boy.
