The Gentry - Dedication/Tribute Thread (Former Players Added)

I would like to add HARRY CLARKE to the list for Gentry Day remembrance.

Harry was a true gent - a big man with a big heart and a burning passion for Preston North End. He would spend hours talking 'North End' at the counter of his shop in the Guild Hall arcade, that place has never been the same since he left.

Some real quality and touching posts. The origins of The Gentry are well penned but the new tribute/in memory of is a credit and as such lets be loud and proud 'We Are The Gentry'

So this Saturday I will be wearing my trilby with pride for my mum and dad who had the sense to move to Preston and make me a follower of the one and only North End.

Nice touch LiverpoolWhite. I sense a great proudness you had of both your mum and dad

Could I please add to the list the name of the guy who started The Gentry idea in the first place, the one and only ALAN BALL SNR without whom we wouldn't be enjoying the Gentry Day at all.

Also another late great PNE manager - the big man himself JOHN MCGRATH who I'm sure would be proud as punch that we are enjoying our day at Newcastle United

Thanks for the memories fella's

I would like to mention my Mum, Doreen Wright, who died on 29 November 2009 age 79. A life long supporter and season ticket holder in the Tom Finney Stand.

Very touching !!

This brought a tear to my eye........

Thank you mate. The one important lesson that my mum and dad taught me was if you fall in love that is it. Game over.

I love Preston no-one can take that away from me. Even my missus understands now. You cannot lose that passion.

I honestly believe that we are different from other clubs. We ARE the ultimate family club. We look after each other we sometimes despise each other (but that happens in every family) but always we love the same thing.
Newcastle are quite close to the same sort of set up. Deluded or passionate? All I know is that we sold all our tickets and great guys and girls are going for the same reason.
Either we are insane or - we just love PNE and all it stands for. Think I'm a bit of both actually 🙂
