Matty playing OK. Had a couple of decent runs. Doing the simple things well...

Nouble looks pretty good. Wonder if there's any chance of him going out on loan.
You would of thought so but depends how highly they rate him.... they might want to start working him into the first team

He was at West Brom/Swindon last season on loans. Reckon there's a good chance he'll be loaned out again.

Did anyone else think we were outplayed by Austria in this game or is it just me?
Some clinical finishing by our boys, but very little in the way of transition from the middle to the final third, we kept looking to knock the ball over the top or into space behind the defenders to exploit our pace.
Very one dimensional, is it any wonder that we can't compete when it comes to the senior side at the highest level.
Thought Matt James was class but had very few options to play in front of him, the lack of movement was a waste of his ability to keep the ball while looking for the killer pass.

I was thinking the same thing. To me it was a victory of size and strength over skill. At times it was almost Beckesque, with the ball being pumped up to two big strikers. Our midfield was bypassed for the majority of the game, which was disappointing as when we did play through it at the start of the 2nd half the players looked good.

You two sound surprised?
This is England we are talking about, we have played this way for over a century.
Nothing is going to change, just blame the foreigners.

The problem with our football is not that there are too many foreigners playing in the EPL, but more the way in which they are taught to play at every level. If they were taught the correct fundamentals and teams were taught to value possession at younger ages rather than the, when in doubt kick it out mentality, then more of our players would be taking up positions in the top league.
Opportunities for players from other countries are no greater than they are here, the championship would rate as equivalents to many o/s league's 1st tier competitions and there are plenty of players being loaned to championship clubs from the Prem.
The only difference is the style of football they are taught to play and it is not until this changes that we will start to become more competitive.
