"I Learned all I know at Prestion" ??
Interesting to see that last season, in the Championship, he was outscored by Peter Whittingham, Nicky Maynard, Gary Hooper, Michael Chopra and Charlie Adam.
No way worth £35m. Newcastle have done some good business but still the geordies are moaning, i dont think they ever stop moaning to be honest.
I think the main problem is that it more than likely won't get re invested into the squad.

My comment at the time was, he's useless for us because he's 18. 18 year olds can't play at this level in certain roles such as target man or centre half because these positions rely on experience and knowledge of the game. However, I did say he would be a good player in a few years, anyone with any sense could see that a lad of that size with his kind of movement and touch was gonna be a handful.
I don't buy into this "preston fans are wankers for not loving Carroll" bollocks certain posters spout though. He was ineffective here simply because he was too young.

Straight in Fat Ashley's back pocket!
Not a chance in hell that girlfriend beating waste of breath is worth £35mil+ Add Ons.
41 games, 14 goals...
He deserves to be crapped on by a herd of Umpa Lumpa's.

I don't think his attitude was right either mate and that's the reason some fans didn't take to him.

Too young and him having a new strike partner every 45 minutes didn't help either.

True, and that's never changed. Now he does it on the pitch for Newcastle I don't suppose they care much.

Prestion?
Interesting mix of Preston and question. Definitely should be in the dictionary

I remember him having a really good game against Leicester I think.
He did win a decent amount of headers for an 18 year old but it looked like he hadn't grown into his body properly while he was with us.
If memory serves our wingers at the time were Danny Pugh and Simon Whaley so the balls being whipped into him were hardly frequent and of high quality.

The majority of our fans are as thick as fuck, that's why so many were slating him when he played for us.

I don't know how much grief he got like but whilst he was here I thought he looked pretty poor if I'm honest

When he was here everyone was saying he was shite.
Mainly because he was - he contributed virtually zero.
Good player now but worth £10m max.

There was something about him that was plain to see even in a stuttering side, managed by a simpleton and being fed on the creative juices of McKenna, Whaley, Pugh and Slugwick. He was very raw and often made imho poor decisions and his attitude was questionable at best, but for an 18 year old playing up front he did ok overall. I think the England cap and talk of multimillion pound transfer fee is a bit far fetched and premature, a couple of seasons performing well and scoring in the Premiershit regularly then perhaps he deserves the hype that surrounds the latest Geordie 'messiah'.

He was a raw talent, he certainly wasn't shit like many made out, we should resurrect the threads and expose the guilty.
Having said that, I agree Newcastle must be nuts turning down £30,000,000.
