Just a few of us saw something in Carroll while my opponents were slagging him off. Kesselriing got it right again but then it was far too obvious to all but the brain dead. That being those same clowns how are acclaiming the signing of 34 year old has been Ashbee. This must truly rank as one of PNE's most dire signings of all time.

Raw talent that couldn't be harnessed here unfortunately. Again, I liked the look of him but couldn't argue that he played well.
Some players just "have it". I remember Bale having a stinker at Deepdale for Southampton but quite a few I spoke to after just noted his movement, touch and acceleration. Even after a shit game you could see he was destined for greater things than anyone else on the pitch.
Don't Liverpool have any European scouts? I'm sure the likes of Forlan or Benzema would be available for a fraction of this.

Well I could see that Carrol was a star in the making. The lad was an almighty handful while here, both on and off the pitch, and I was totally confident he would make it big one day. That day has arrived and I'm yet again proven to be right.

At the time he simply wasn't ready. He had potential but was way off being good enough for Championship football (hence why nobody else took him on loan). He also acted a cunt by getting himself sent off for petulance, which cost us the game at Scunthorpe. Nobody can tell me that they expected him to turn out as good as he is now. Nobody expected it, Carroll included!

Of course he wasn't ready, but you could see he was a handful and had raw potential. It saddened me at the time that the same clueless fuckers that hero worship mediocre players can slag off young lads with potential. yesterdays transfer sagas prove there is to much money for the bigger teams and that the rest of the footballing world is suffering for it. I mean Fernando torres is not £50M and andy carroll is not worth £35M
