I agree, Risdale is all the things Derek wasn't.

In my opinion it's unfair to taint Risdale's contacts in such a vague way, please be specific which contacts are you talking about and be clear about how they are unsound in your view.
 
I see PlymouthFan has already provided a good summary of PR's time at Argyle. I get the impression he is trying to rebuild his reputation and in some instances helped us, but in others didn't.

He came to Argyle when 7 clueless cretins (our ex board) had run up debts of £17m which were growing by the day. He quickly sold our best players to pay off the HMRC and kept them at bay for a period.

The appointment of Brendan Guilfoyle (administrator) and David Hinchcliffe (Ridsdale's mates) was a dark day for Argyle (but necessary). Guilfoyle handled the whole process terribly and needlessly dragged it out (depsite his firm getting more money @ £280/ hour). If those two are linked to PNE in any way you are in trouble.

We were then linked to Heaney and Bishop International- a Gibralton Registered company, whose directors (who looked like random chavs) lived in Batley- coincidentally where Ridsdale is from. They basically showed they had funds to purchase the club, the main backer pulled out (meaning they didn't have the funds) and this followed with months of extended deadlines which caused more problems.

I see you have a supporters group- I would urge as many people as possible to join to fight any potential attacks from vultures.

Ridsdale will cut costs and possibly improve your finances- I hope you're not in a situation as bad as we were. I still don't trust the bloke and I'm happy that he is no longer at Argyle.

Can you tell us why it is a disgrace that Risdale is involved in PNE?

What exactly did he do wrong at CCFC?
 
I think Hemmings has brought him in to oversee administration. just my opinion.

Depends on whether the company that own PNE own the ground as well ? Or is the ground owned separately by another TH company ?

If it was he could put PNE into administration.. and basically walk away from PNE.. while retaining the ground as the only real asset ! It would probably be worth around £20 million to a developer.

I don't know the answer.. but I expect we will find out soon enough !

The sad thing is that I'd rather take Ridsdale over the previous two chairmen we've had at the club, I'll give him till the end of the season before writing him off as some on here have done within minutes of him becoming chairman. If, heaven forbid, we do well this season, will the same people be singing his praises?

Absolutely disgraceful choice, his track record speaks for itself. That's PNE pretty much finished I think. 🙁

Not at all, I asked him to name Risdale's shady contacts and to clarify why exactly they were disreputable. I'm looking for facts rather than opinions.

He described:-


Brendan Guilfoyle as "useless" & "hated".

James Brent as a "local business man" (hardly a crime in itself)

Firoz Kassam "as hated by fans"

An unamed Turo City owner as "disreputable"

I'm not saying Risdale's contacts aren't shady but before I accept that I like to see specific evidence (rather than opinion) that this is the case.
