This place sounds exactly like our main forum when Ridsdale turned up at Home Park earlier this year supposedly on a “walking holiday in Devon”. Check out the thread about today’s news on Pasoti (

The pro PR camp will say that he saved us when HMRC were looking to take a club down in their war with football. While our hapless directors were scrambling around like headless chickens, PR negotiated the sales of several players to reduce our HMRC debt and deny them the major creditor role they needed to drive us into liquidation. There is no doubt he worked extremely hard and often late into the night (many miles away from his family home) in his efforts to keep us alive.
The anti PR camp will point to his involvement in the takeover deal that nearly killed us. The owner of Truro City FC was going to buy our stadium and land and give the football club to PR for a quid. PR and the useless, hated administrator Brendan Guilfoyle wasted months trying to push this deal through when it was obvious to all and sundry that the Truro guy didn’t have a pot to p*ss in. All the while our staff and players went without wages and we sunk further and further down the league.
When it finally became clear that the Truro deal was dead – leaving local businessman James Brent in pole position – PR jetted off to Monaco to meet former Oxford owner Firoz Kassam in a desperate effort to bring another property/club split deal to the table.
That failed, and he had no choice but to back Brent. That deal was finally completed last month, but despite being given a ‘Chairman of football’ role, PR’s heart was no longer in it and he has been touting for work elsewhere ever since.
There is no doubt he knows football and has good contacts in the game, but his contacts in the business world aren’t quite as sound to say the least. The sum total of his efforts to find us a buyer was the disreputable owner of Truro and the ex-Oxford chairman, who fans of that club hate.
It would not surprise me if he was on the phone right now trying to find a property dealer who will buy your stadium and give him the club for a tuppence. This is what he craves: total control of a football club and the potential to turn a £1 investment into a lottery jackpot.
He is engaging, charming and communicative (he’s happy to chat to fans on email, phone or in person), but many fans see him as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If he’s kept on a leash he can be an asset to you – but the man’s an opportunist who will pounce the very moment he gets a whiff of power and riches.
