Wallasey, but born in Preston.
He stated that he thought the timing of his dismissal was hard to understand. Pne had their best players coming back from injury and given that we'd only conceded 5 in 8 he couldn't understand why he had been sacked. The next manager would get all the benefit from the players coming back after long lay offs.

Yeah right Phil. And what about players not being in their right positions, stupid tactics, and players not being fit after only a third of the season gone?

I agree with that totally. He gave the youngsters a great chance but his positioning was terrible, the tactics were different than they had ever been and the worst they'd been. He needs all the players not just 'good' ones and he shouldn't be judging them anyway.

I honestly think he must be a little thick (when all has settled.) Who else was that obstinate and blind? I can only think of Craig Brown. And he signed a few gems, so time forgives him.

I think it is a bit of a damage limitation exercise by Phil to be honest.

After all his CV is starting to look a bit dodgy isn't it?

I wouldn't pay much notice to him.

At least he has not rung all his mates up to re-call players and try and destroy the club, unlike the son of satan.

At the end of last season I was pretty confident that he knew what he was doing. Even from the early days this year though the doubts start to surface - playing Hume Mellor and Proctor seemed odd for instance as it meant we did not get the best out of our best player - but the initial results earned him a bit of leeway. However the team selections have grown increasingly bizarre, the lack of any noticeable game plan, the poor use of substitutes, the bombing of players in and then out of the team, the awful loan signings, all add up. The right decision, Phil, made at the right time. Let's move on.

Yeah, he was looking forward to playing Hume in goal

Pretty sure it was satan himself that did that, not his son.

His dad did that not him. If my son had got sacked I would not help the people that sacked him either. Even Nigel Clough at the time said his dad would have done the same! At least fergie junior got us Hume and Coutts and he also hasn't been as nasty and bitter like PB seems to be coming across as. As you say his CV is looking dodgy and I am sure he won't get a job as quick as Fergie jnr did

His record since he took over is awful.

Damage limitation certainly from him & I guess you can't blame him for that.

Just made two really good loan signings - got a win and a draw and defence looking solid at last. Best player just returning from injury.

Sounds fair enough doesn't it?

After 8 defeats in 9 you would have maybe expected him to have been sacked after 7 or maybe the 8th defeat, but he's clearly trying to make the 'outside' world think he had turned it around by the win at Hartlepool and draw Vs Stevenage. Can't blame him for doing that (the BBC FLS mentioned something similar) but he'll end up like a Dowie now.

I think that's what he's hoping people will think. People who saw the football know better though.

meh, this is true, and despite never being a fan of Brown the timing of his departure did surprise me a bit as well. But its not really as black and white as that is it.

Im happy for Brown to spin the narrative if he wants, but we all know there was more context to his sacking than the last 2 games, or even the last 10. His tenure has been nothing short of embarrassing really, and while not wholly his fault he certainly has a fair chunk of responsibility for it.

Brown needs to take a good look at why he got kicked out. Ignorant fool. He doesn't deserve another job because he hoodwinked his way into our club and delivered jack. Another dishonest individual.

Wouldn't it be nice if the bastards occasionally admitted their errors that had cost us time, money and precious energy. Humility not a strong point.
