Sponsorship

You mean with your INCORRECT answer.

The FACT is that there's a lack of advertising, marketing etc is because we no longer have a marketing manager, therefore marketing has virtually become 'extinct'.

At the same stage last season we also had plenty of spare advertising boards at Deepdale, the club then recruited a chap called Darren who had filled them all within a few weeks.

Darren sadly was one of the ones who lost his job recently along with the Marketing Manager.

The job losses were over seen by someone Hemmings brought in to cut costs. She "did not see a role for a marketing manager in the future of the business!"

The current office staff at the club now all have various roles to absorb the work done by positions which were made redundant and all work very hard (which is good). Yet I find it strange a club with premier league ambitions not having a marketing department very strange.

The two people who sold advertising boards last season - one is now commentating on Radio Lancs, the other is selling advertising boards (and doing very well at it) for a number of clubs on a freelance basis.

I knew about AJ but not about Darren glad they have both got sorted as both top lads!

Maybe the club should offer the spaces to Local Charities to fill them up on the basis, that if someone comes along and wants that spot they lose it. Help the local community out. Some may find it a help and pay for the space to keep it there. Or have their own advert, "Get seen on TV and by the Locals, Advertise here"

Last night I noticed the screen had an ad for a company sponsoring Peter Ridsdale. It led to a discussion between me and Wardy about sponsorship for GW. We suggested it should be one of the mobile phone companies.

Do you think it should be Vodaphone, O2, Three, Phones4u, or should he be given a new iPhone 5? Maybe even a Samsung Galaxy to text his stellar signings?

Incidentally, when I suggested Laird should be sponsored by 3, he popped up with his first goal.

Given his current choice of goalkeeper, perhaps a sponsorship deal with siemens(son) would be apt.

I'll get me coat!
