Last night I noticed the screen had an ad for a company sponsoring Peter Ridsdale. It led to a discussion between me and Wardy about sponsorship for GW. We suggested it should be one of the mobile phone companies.

Do you think it should be Vodaphone, O2, Three, Phones4u, or should he be given a new iPhone 5? Maybe even a Samsung Galaxy to text his stellar signings?

Incidentally, when I suggested Laird should be sponsored by 3, he popped up with his first goal.

Isn't the company that sponsors The Riddler something to do with credit advice? How apt considering his history.

Lack of interest amongst local businesses along with lack of cash. The people of Preston are being out priced for shitty league one football.
Dont go then if u find it shitty. simple really.

As for me Im beginning to enjoy it again, finally.

I wish you would stop hijacking threads with your vitriol. This thread has nothing whatsoever to do with the standard of football.

This thread is about sponsorship at Deepdale. I made comment to the following question..............

Why is there loads of empty pitch side advertising spaces at Deepdale?

Keeping the thread totally on subject with my correct answer. It's not my fault you don't like the truth Kathy.

Damn, apologies friend, totally forgot. Of course you think its shitty, fair enough your true love Blackpoo are a league above us for now. Apologies for forgetting thats where youre coming from.

Just to keep on subject though, how do you feel about, with poverty being the way it is in places like Marton and the Grange estates, the fact that your sponsors are Wonga.com? Not very ethical in my opinion, what about you?

You mean with your INCORRECT answer.

The FACT is that there's a lack of advertising, marketing etc is because we no longer have a marketing manager, therefore marketing has virtually become 'extinct'.

And that's a fact is it Shabba?

It quite possibly has something to do with it, but you're disagreeing that there is a lack of money about are you?

keeping on topic, it does seem that some ad boards will be missing a sponsor for the rest of the season. A lack of money may be the biggest reason, but being in league1 will not help. Fulwood academy has a board and they are a school so i don't think they can cost that much, PNE have always struggled to market the club well and it seems this is just another example. The real question should be how much are we losing, and if wages and transfers are being decided off turnover then surely empty ad boards cant be good.

No idea how much it costs to advertise on a board at PNE, but a decent advertising manager does not come cheap.

We do need someone though as our sponsorship and PR departments could do with renovating.
