JK made it clear the other week he wasn’t happy with stuff. We’ve experimented and been as lenient as we can with going completely soft and issuing thread bans, then section bans. If people don’t take the hint then unfortunately they need to live with what happens.

Times are shit for lots of people, not sure why the mods are suddenly not allowed that. We’ve had people ill, families, kids to deal with, work and a whole new life just the same as everyone else. The last thing we then want is to have to come here and police people who can’t act appropriately(and it seems to always be a minority). People have complained it’s been getting out of hand and ruining the site, others complain that it should be allowed(although those people also seem to complain it annoys them). We can’t win. If people can’t self regulate themselves and need us to constantly mop up behind them then maybe it isn’t the place for them. If we lose the additional subforums because of people’s behaviour it will be a sad loss indeed and I hope JK doesn’t get to the point he feels he needs to make this purely a PNE forum. Also why should some people choose to have to take a sabbatical from the forum because they don’t like other people’s constant misbehaviour. Why should their opinion count any less?

Surely by removing no posts we’ve been completely impartial? I don’t get that. I know we used to move some stuff to off topic but it would be almost constant lately with the forum as busy as it is. Bear with us. We’re human too.

I agree jake. To be honest I’ve learnt over the years to just walk away rather than let things get out of hand because I don’t think thats fair on anyone. Threads turn into spiteful and personal arguments, the debate of who is wrong and who is right goes on between everyone and then the mods take the blame regardless of which side they believe to be right! Some just like a good hearted debate and a bit of a laugh with some of the posts, when things get personal leave well alone Is my view.

Either accept posters or walk away but I don’t ignore because one time you could miss something of interest they post.

I’m good thanks. More importantly yourself ?
been really obeying the covid rules. Simply working from home. A walk with the dogs every day. Shopping for my pregnant daughter and in laws. So not really a lot to report

Im really glad you are safe and well and good luck and much health and happiness with the new baby. I have not been dissimilar to you. Walked round Moor Park and have got odds and sods from shops for my daughter who is a carer. My grandson (also a carer) has been to see we are ok when he passes and we have seen our great grandson through the window because we were so scared he had forgotten us. He hadn’t in fact he cried when we left. I love that little one so much. My son in London is hoping to come with his family when the law/danger eases but we speak on FaceTime a couple of times a week. My sister is recovering well and sees her oncologist on 10th June. It’s the hardest part I think, they will have to prize me off my family when this is over. I will be hugging them forever!

it sounds like so many of us you are adapting - we are by nature quite resilient creatures and for every story of doom and gloom I see stories of how people are helping and getting us through this terrible time. That said my heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one.

By and large I think the Moderators do a good job and the abuse was getting out of hand lately. There’s a difference with that and a ‘bit of banter’

As I posted earlier, I think that the Mod's should inform posters IF they are thinking of banning them so they can ‘watch their ways’
But JK said they do
So that's good enough for me
If you don't like it you can always post elsewhere on social Media

Trust me there were many warnings... since 4 of us got a weekend in the sin bin they repeatedly had to delete posts, warn people etc....

Not sure mate not really studied the threads in much detail. Have a day off and miss several pages and very rarely read back though unless it’s quoting one of my posts

it is a simple action to create and move off topic stuff to another part of the forum, that or simply delete posts which do not enhance the thread, yet issuing bans is the easy option as it takes less of the mods time. The forum will be a much poorer place if these two great posters (who I think are complete and utter cocks) are singled out while others have just posted absolute garbage in the CV thread and remain intact, we have had posters wishing people had died that are without a ban FFS.

There are not enough mods and admins, 3 admins plus 7 mods can cover this place easily and not resort to taking the easy option of banning people, when will the next mod elections take place, who can move "upstairs" etc etc etc

Banning is lazy and uncalled for when there is a much easier option.

Most of the complaints will have been about ONE thread, so banning works???????
 
Surely there’s a lot more important things going on in the world than getting worked up about what someone else posts on a football forum, or any social media for that matter?
